algorithmic modeling for Rhino

I'm trying to perform a region union on these particular rectangles. For some reason the region union fails for the full list, yet if I remove either the head or tail it will work. I've tried region union with success on other rectangles from my project - it's only these ones that fail. I'm really at a loss here, so any help would be great. Thanks.

I haven't looked at your definition - so you may have done this already - but : do you specify the plane for them (i.e. world XY) and/or make sure they are all planar and on the same plane? (I think the component should do this if you specify the plane, but it never hurts to make sure)

Thanks for the reply, Kris. In the definition I uploaded I did not specify the plane. When trying to get runion to work for these rectangles, however, I have checked they're planar, have provided the XY plane, have tried projecting them onto the XY plane etc.

What I find perplexing is that it seems I can successfully do an runion for any contiguous sequence of these rectangles bar the full set.

(I omitted to mention in the initial post that I'm using Rhino 4.)

Seems like this is working in Rhino 5.

It also doesn't appear to be the number of rectangles (I tried union sequentially in groups), but rather the overall complexity or number of edges/segments in the curves defining the region.

I don't know if they'll fix the bug in Rhino4 now that things seem to be solidly moving forward. :-/

(this is also a problem in a project I'm working on)
