algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Catenary curve does not appear smooth when zoomed in. Can be seen if the catenary is divided and lines drawn between the divided points. In attached image "catenary.jpg", catenary in green and straight lines in red. Can be seen more readily if rectangles (representing bricks for example) are placed normal to the lines created by divide "catenary bricks.jpg". The overlap triangle between rectangles should be smaller on the left and grow progressively larger at the curvature of the catenary increases. However they are uneven and don't change as expected. I tried playing with units and increasing the tolerances, etc. Is there a simple fix related to units/tolerances? The preview mesh settings do not seem to affect the curves (as they are not meshes, I guess?) Or perhaps the catenary component is not designed to provide very precise information?

Hi Scott,

correct, a catenary curve cannot be exactly represented using a Nurbs curve. Instead I choose to export a polyline. You can fit a nurbscurve through this polyline if you want to make it smooth.
