So what’s actually better in the end: hiring separate specialists and companies for each stage of the renovation, like one does the windows, another lays the tiles, another comes later to install the doors and so on, or just hiring one full crew that does everything from start to finish?

It feels like your question already has a pretty logical answer. I don’t know why you would split the whole renovation into a bunch of stages when you can actually hire great specialists, for example, https://ubrothersconstruction.com/, and just let them handle the entire renovation. Like a turnkey renovation service. I think you should choose the most convenient and comfortable option available. I’m more comfortable trusting one team with everything than looking for new people for every stage without having any idea how good or experienced they are.
