Yahoo Mobile service confusion

Why does Yahoo Mobile sometimes show "no service" in areas where other providers work fine? Is there a way to fix it?

My phone kept showing "no service" in spots where I knew there should be coverage. After speaking to yahoo mobile customer support, I found out that resetting the network settings on my phone and switching it off and on helped reconnect. It’s worth a shot before contacting support if you’re having the same issue.
