algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hello everyone,

I have a problem with the 'beam-joint agent' component.

When I plug it Karamba says that I have 127 rigid body modes in the system, but I can't understand the reason why.

Also I divided my beams in X oriented and Y oriented, in order to assign RX to Y beams and vice versa, but it seems to be something wrong.

Any suggestions?

I attach 3d file and definition, thanks a lot!

Hello Alessia,

some of your elements are free to rotate about their longitudinal axis (see attached definition). Make sure that there is only one rotation joint per beam.

Dear Alessia,

you could use joints with a small stiffness (see attached definition) to avoid a moveable system - however this is only a work-around.
In order to get a more correct solution you would have to take a closer look at your geometry: some beams are not properly connected.

You can check the model for such bugs using the Eigenmodes-component.

Best,

Clemens
