algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Hi,
I am working on this simple testing structure where I can move pre Disp... and the other beam will react but the deformation will stay in the vertical beams so the both beams can stretch to keep the horizontal one in the same length after moving the pre Disp...
So what I thought about is to add an intermediate spring to keep the deformation inside it so any of the two beams able to stretch infinitely despite their materials. So first I used the 'spring' as an intermediate element and it failed and secondly I used the 'Beam-joints'but it is not working for a reason my structure is still unstable even all the components are assembled to the model. Can you tell me what is the exact problem with the Beam-joints method ? and any suggestions ?

Hi,
your system is kinematic - probably due to the hinges. The 'Eigen Modes'-component can be used in such circumstances to detect rigid body modes (see attached definition).
Best,
Clemens
Actually my real problem is adding a hinge in the end_start of two beams and the kinematic error always facing me . what I expected is a welded point in the middle because the DOFs are 0 in the Beam_joint.
