Tile UI
Dicking around on a Sunday. I haven't got Windows 8 and I've never actually used the new Tile based UX, but I was wondering if it made sense for Grasshopper. I'm not sure I like this yet, but I can see the point of having 'stuff' on the canvas if there's no document loaded.

You'll have to add some gradients and drop shadows to the tiles or, better yet, adapt the whole Grasshopper UI to the metro style, but this would go against a few of the points you made in the blog post about icons.
I really like the minimalist look and usability of the metro interface, specially on my windows phone.
