John, the initial code for the masterplan was done in java and then translated to VB. Once the masterplan is optimized, individual units are optimized according to the set parameters. The optimization in the video employs Geco, a plugin for grasshopper, to export the model from Rhino to Ecotect and import the results in the form of numeric values. These values are then fed to Galapagos to evaluate the geometry, which is controlled by sliders, again connected to Galapagos as genes.

Dear Khizer,

Please could you give me some breakdown on what softwares you have used for this processs from start to finish. I read through the post on your blog explaining it in more detail but at the minute I am trying to configure the exact process that this design proposal went through.

At the minute I can make out it has gone through Ecotect into galapagos for the calculations.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
