Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Test of a light animation technique I'm working on using Grasshopper to generate a single toolpath, Processing to deal with the LED coordination, Esperant.0 to control the robot and sync the LED firing, and Kangaroo to provide the simulation.

There is no post processing involved in this animation - it is just a series of long exposure photos.

Cool! I get it now, that's amazing. How long is the whole video in reality? Would there be a way with smoke to leave a trace of the light?  How can I access Esperant.0 page? Really curious about it now :)

Actually no, and that's the beauty of it. See this youtube video to see what's actually going on (super low res, but should help explain).

Basically a robot draws each frame of the animation in a series of long exposure photographs.

Looks great! Are these as series of LEDS on stings?
