The base fefinition and rhino file can be found here on the forums via the link below.

The surface for this was a cylinder (w/o top or bottom caps) with a decent number of subdivs that after I baked, I applied Weaverbird subdiv too as well. I added some more springs than are in the def. and had to play with settings to get the right effect. Experiment with the sample, but you should replace the cylinder with a denser one. I'll post the actual files for this project on my site soon, once I work out bugs.
