nice work there!!

hi sorry for my delayed answer. The file shows how a single layer builds up. (I think its possible to make it more efficient, for me it was one of my first definitions.)
So after this level there is a shift of points to make the other two layers, plus a scaling based on distance from control curves.

Dear Peter,
that looks quite amazing. I would be amazed if you would share some more information about the definition.
Best.

HDA: think it production would need to be component based, like this Erwin Hauer study: http://www.flickr.com/photos/jonolist/3283431331/
or literally woven from multiple fibers so they could bifurcate...

very interresting!!
How you would link to build that in reality?

Thanks! They are all lofted surfaces, and the three layers are interwoven so it has a depth. The density is reacting on the control curve(s), but it would't be difficult to make it related to the curvature of the base surface...the real challange was to work with a triangular(hexagonal) division on a UV based surface...

Really nice work!

Very beautiful !!! Are these all surfaces or closed polysurfaces ?

very nice -- do the denser areas correspond to the curvature of the base srf or is it a seperate parameter u control?
