Not bad ;)

this is my solution, but your still work if you use a regular point grid; with populate 3d you can't have a regular one.

Is important to remove the duplicates curves of the metaball

thx Mohamed,

unfortunately it is an old definition, do not think I saved it, but it is very simple;

just a 3d grid of points and a curve divided, random reduce on the grid of point and use the two sets of points to generate metaballs.

The main problem is to generate surfaces, beacouse the metaballs produce a series of overlapping polylines, try to delete them by finding their center and applying cull duplicates or with other methods.
