Hi Roger, just doing some testing for the plastiCity fantastiCity urban competition. The colour gradients are based on the mesh face areas from within the VB script (extra code along with generation variation on each node that isn't included in the sample script on our site), however, you can use the gradient + custom preview components to add from outside the script.

wow amazing. Is this some kind of urbanism proposal? How did you get the gradient coloured lines - is that in grasshopper or post pro?
