well this is printed on a stratasys (powder) not plastic, so you don´t need support material

now i try similar, but my goal is to 3d-print severally each "node" with half-tentacle, because our 3d-printer is very expensive and would use too much support material...

perhaps a skeletal mesh from a 3d voronoi diagram with thickness...?
