Thanks Guilio that is very helpful, I missed this discussion.

Matteo - Yes I am very interested in form-finding, tensile and light weight structures. I am looking for ways how to generate these structure with grasshopper, if you have any ideas or links for this topic I would be very interested.

Yes, this curve is correct (differs from parabola, that just approximates catenary arch). For this study I combined the correct formula with its inverse, in order to control the height of the arch. It's not a question of physical mass-spring systems like this (http://www.matteoloprete.com/en/2009/01/research-pproject-phase-i-c...).
Just maths.
If you need of more detailed information I'll happy to discuss about this definition with you.

I've taken a look to your personal page and seen many comments on mass-spring, form-finding and so on. Have you got a particular interest in it?
