ceived the following error message when typing grasshopper into the command line. I am using parallels, and trying to do this through the evaluation version.
I am not usually very good with windows and therefore am unsure as to what the error message means.
Can anyone tell me what i have done wrong? Is there a way to use the mac version, save the file, then use it in the evaluation version?
thanks…

---------------------
I now reinstalled Radiance in the C:\Radiance folder and when dropping the Honeybee_Honeybee component on the canvas, I get the following:
Runtime error (DirectoryNotFoundException): Could not find a part of the path 'c:\ladybug\HoneybeeRadMaterials.mat'.Traceback: line 253, in __init__, "<string>" line 2200, in script

[that is also the only error that I'm now getting when opening the 000 getting started file).
There is no c:\ladybug on my PC.
Note: In order to run the Radiance installer, I had to run as administrator. My user doesn't have write rights on the c-root folder (and no chance of getting that either... :)

pen Brep"; I didn't know it worked on flat surfaces. And I think it's only fair to include in your benchmark the considerable time 'SUnion' takes in this example: 21.9 seconds for 121 rings and likely much more with 400 or 1,000+ rings.
Then I noticed the pattern doesn't match. Checked the circles and they are the same. The distance between them, however, is different: 7 instead of 6. When I change that value to 6, the Python fails badly. All the holes and gaps are gone, which destroys the pattern:
I can't do the "two phase" approach on an 11 X 11 grid, but I can do 6 X 6 and 2 X 2 to get a 12 X 12 grid (40 'SUnion' operations) in 28 seconds total. That beats your benchmark of ~37 seconds for an 11 X 11 grid, if you include the 'SUnion' in your code.

&fork=hydra_2&id=Vector-BasedShadow_Study&slide=1&scale=1&offset=0,0 )
It worked fine with basic geometries. But when I put my projects geometry in the input it was loading for ages and I had to stop it.
Than I reduced my geometry and picked up some elements from it. Curved nurbs surfaces. I have drawn it in Rhino ( _networksrf)
With the reduced geometry I got some output after a long time (although I have a fast PC) but it wasn´t well. The shadows vectors were fragmentary ( attached file)
Is the code incomplete for geometries like mine? Or is it the wrong approach for those curved surfaces? Is there any better code for my aim?Thx for your help

een shot and there are two pull down menus of PT. The left if clicked shows the older version and works fine, but when the right menu is clicked the software freezes and crashes.
In my PC, Rhino 5 32 bit and 64 bit are installed and Rhino 4 as well. Just for your info.
Thanks.

e time to get the gist of this:
http://geometrica.com/en/architectural/specifications-and-details
Of course there's endless combinations out there ranging from roofs that leak (umbrellas a must) to roofs that are work of art (many dollars a must).
For non modular panels and "easy" nurbs curvatures (if around)... well ... only Foamglas (1 s) is the answer (+ serated plates + SBS membranes + a proper fixing system + VM Zink, Kalzip, Ti sheets etc etc) ... but that requires a certain experience to design and apply.
On the other hand there's the Israelis around as well (best PC roofs by a million miles):

are not copy with the number that belong to each other, like:
untrimmed surface0 should be 41 pieces
untrimmed surface1 should be 28 pieces
untrimmed surface1 should be 21 pieces
it result like this
exclude the 1st and 2nd pieces, the others all is untrimmed surface 1
and the attachments is the result that i want, I done it one by one.…
llowed for the program to automatically download .exe file because of security. So, I should manually download "GenCumSky.exe" to use Gencumsky component in Ladybug.
I found " GenCumSky.exe" in the discussion forum at DIVA for Rhino's Website below.
http://diva4rhino.com/forum/topics/gencumulativesky-exe-problem
Then, I put this .exe file into my working directory. But, gencumsky component seem to write error message below on report output out put as image 1 attached.
"gendiscretesky:Error - invalid input parameter '-p'."
Following components also write error message as image 2 attached.
Dose anyone have an idea to solve this problem?

ried turning off all firewalls, etc, but still have the issue. I am using your 'analyse_terrain' file.
http://www.grasshopper3d.com/group/gismo/forum/topics/terrain-generator-not-finding-the-remote-server
The error says:
downloadFile_e1: Unable to connect to the remote serverdownloadFile_e2: [Errno socket error] getaddrinfo returns an empty listThis component requires topography data to be downloaded from opentopography.org as a prerequisite for creating a terrain. It has just failed to do that. Try the following two fixes: 1) Sometimes due to large number of requests, the component fails to download the topography data even if opentopography.org website and their services are up and running. In this case, wait a couple of seconds and try reruning the component. 2) opentopography.org website could be up and running, but their terrain service (RESTful Web service) may be down (this already happened before).Try again in a couple of hours. If each of two mentioned advices fails, open a new topic about this issue on: www.grasshopper3d.com/group/gismo/forum.
Have you found any other ways to get around this besides shutting off the firewall?
Thanks
Nate
