and fine-grained control over the Excel 2017 COM objects, to be used with Bumblebee. :) I was unable to get Bumblebee working with the latest Excel, and I wanted to add more fine-grained control over file creation, application processes (killing background processes primarily), etc. Now that it's mostly working, I'm really enjoying all of the flexibility you've built in to Bumblebee. It's working great.
Anyway, I'll share that when it's ready, still more testing to do...
Cheers,
Marc

ecember 2017 from 18:30 until 20:30. We will have presentations from Heatherwick Studio and AKT II.
Please visit the following page for more details and registration: http://simplyrhino.co.uk/events/upcoming-events/grasshopper-uk-ugm-2017
Heatherwick studio will present two projects covering the topic of designing, making and collaborating through computational tools. Heatherwick’s Geometry and Computational Design team will go through the computational processes behind design and making in the studio concentrating on two projects, Vessel in New York with a focus on driving the geometry and Al Fayah Park in Abu Dhabi with a focus on Form Finding and working with collaborative tools.
AKT II's presentation will explore a series of examples where this new approach was experimented, tested and improved, the Al Fayah Park in collaboration with Heatherwick studio and the 2016 Serpentine Pavilion with BIG, and more.
We're looking forward to seeing you all again!
Many thanks,
Paul and Arthur

neybee/issues/563.
However in this post on Oct 2, 2016, "For anyone who may read this discussion later. Th implementation is done in the newer version of Honeybee which is not yet publicly released for Grasshopper.". I'm using the 2017 Feb 05 version of Honeybee, but it seems that the annual simulation still cannot handle BSDF material. Any thoughts? Thanks!

serial For Vector Maps
You can renew the serial two ways:
1) Download Mosquito, install it again, restart Rhino and you should be good to go.
Or....
2) Click on the little "gear icon" on the bottom left of the Mosquito Vector Maps component and enter this new serial for the Beta version:

low cost fabrication techniques developed by RC6, a research laboratory based at UCL / The Bartlett School of Architecture. A part of Bartlett's BPro programme, RC6 traditionally engages in the development of design methodologies positioned at the overlap of digital and analogue computation, primarily investigating concepts which merge traditional, low-tech manufacturing processes and advanced technological concepts.Topic of this workshop - Composite Bodies - represents RC6’s ongoing research into hybridised material systems consisting of soft membrane materials and light-weight infill aggregates. In this particular case, from a material point of view, we will be looking into custom designed lycra pieces, filled with styrofoam beads and spheres and constrained with series of performative stitches. The resulting parts will be coated with latex and used to create series of interlocking components and surfaces. The workshop itself will consist of 2 stages. The first two days will be dedicated to intensive software training sessions. Students will be introduced to multiple digital platforms focusing on scripting in Processing and 3D modelling/sculpting in Maya/ZBrush. Aim is to enable students to understand algorithmic design processes and procedural modelling techniques and to help them to learn how to customize pre-made scripts and how to embed them in their individual workflows. The remaining five days will be dedicated to the fabrication of a spatial installation. Students will learn how to translate digital models into prototypical components and work alongside tutors to aggregate those into one large-scale architectural object which will be exhibited as part of SBODIO32 Exhibition for Milan Design Week 2017.Dates: March - April 2017 RC6 Program Director:DANIEL WIDRIGwith IGOR PANTICSTEFAN BASSINGSOOMEEN HAHMWorkshop Tutor:IGOR PANTICLead Designer at Zaha Hadid ArchitectsVisiting Lecturer at UCL Bartlett School of ArchitectureTeaching Assistants:Thomas Bagnoli, Evgenia Makroglou, Kalliopi Mouzaki, Darshan Singhaniaucl bartlett rc6 graduate studentsSoftwares: Maya, Rhino, Grasshopper, Processing*Previous knowledge of the softwares is not compulsory. e a "game changer" regarding lighting simulations and analysis. To harness the power of Grasshopper, the flexibility of Rhino in a lighting specific application is, I believe, already the future.
Because of the above I am a big proponent of Honeybee for the professional environment, but I feel that there are still a few shortcomings... from what I have tried.
1. It should be "photometrically" more comprehensive, not just for illuminance, luminance and energy (W.h). Other quantities are of great importance, namely intensity and flux.
2. Producing documentation is a big advantage (if not the main advantage) of dedicated packages such as Dialux or AGI32, it would be nice to see it as a strong feature in Honeybee as well.
3. Support for Eulumdat would be a nice feature.
4. There is a performance issue with multiple sources as you mentioned. I have tried a "simple" analysis with 120 sources and it takes, indeed, a substantial amount of time to produce the result. Don't know where the bottleneck is, perhaps not Honeybee's to blame, but it is a hindrance in using the software for complex simulations.
5. Material/surface design would benefit from more options.
Finally, do you have a roadmap of sorts and what can the users expect from Honeybee electic lighting in 2017?
Have a great year!! All the best.
