on the revit side doesn't even open up a menu to choose the parameter??? I tried looking at the chameleon site to see if a newer version exists but the site seems to be down... mine plug in is from 6/11/2013...I believe that's the newest one I'm on revit 2013 and gh 9.0075 I'm including 3 pics. one of my def... one of what happens in my revit window and one taken from a screen shot of how the interface on the revit side should look. I have a adaptive family with one parameter loaded into a project and Im just trying to load the points and affect the parameter with gh data... any help at all is appreciated? hope everyone's wonderful this Christmas morning!…

he path curve into a polycurve (arc and line segments). In this member it seems the orientation vector is near parallel to the end segment, so a default orientation is assumed.
Your gh definition was saved in a state to generate IFC4 (right click on bake component). But your path curves aren't "planar". I've attached a definition that projects interpolated points onto a planed fit to 3 points. Then I get a lot more members created in Revit (I've not seen you can create a non-planar path curve in Revit). Revit does have nurbs capability, but not as functional as Rhino and you'll see few members out of position. You could try building the curves with fewer points, but if you accept a generic model beam (difficult to edit but should represent ok in revit) then I've been working on a new workflow to generate non-planar or arbitrary elements in Revit by exporting the geometry to a .dwg or .sat (2014) file and then importing into a generic model family. It's much slower but can achieve nurbs geometry transfer. I'll demonstrate this soon (I need to check on the sweep I'm getting).
Note Revit 2014 seems to have gone backwards from Revit 2013 in depicting beams with nurbs profiles, so anyone creating similar should stick to 2013 until a patch (or 2015) comes out. I'll monitor this.
Hope it helps, will post the alternate method ASAP.

and pioneers in the fields of architecture, design and engineering.
The event will be in two parts, a four day Workshop 15-18 April, and a public conference beginning with Talkshop 19 April, followed by a Symposium 20 April. The event follows the format of the highly successful preceding events sg2010 Barcelona, sg2011 Copenhagen, and sg2012 Troy.
The Challenge for sg2013 is entitled Constructing for Uncertainty.

CONSTRUCTING FOR UNCERTAINTY
Design and construction, increasingly more information-centric, must also address issues of computational ambiguity. As users, we must drive computational systems to assume new roles and subsume more domains to meet the needs before us. We must consider issues of time and permanence within a cultural and technological landscape of constant change - our most grand gestures will define our environment physically, culturally and economically for generations.
Where historic responses to uncertainty constructed a simplistic environment with basic mechanisms for aggregation and subdivision, we augment these with smart, dynamic and interactive systems. Where modeling capacity has been limited, we now take advantage of vast amounts of data collected by sensing and scanning devices, processed by cluster or grid computing, filtered by machine learning algorithms into patterns, and communicated by ubiquitous devices. Our past data trajectories can guide us in discovering robust and tolerant design systems to meet the demands of a malleable present and uncertain future.
sg2013 Constructing for Uncertainty: transition computational design from the hard space of the ideal to the soft reality of an uncertain built environment.

sg2013 WORKSHOPSThe SG Workshop is a unique creative cauldron attracting attendees from across the world of academia, professional practice as well as many of the brightest students. The Workshop is open to 100 applicants who come together for four intensive days of design and collaboration.
The annual Workshop is organised around Clusters. Clusters are hubs of expertise comprising of people, knowledge, tools, materials and machines. The Clusters provide a focus for Workshop participants working together, within a common framework.

sg2013 TALKSHOPAfter four intense days of innovative work, Talkshop offers an opportunity for critical reflection on what has been accomplished in the Workshop. Talkshop will be an opportunity to open debates, pose questions, challenge orthodoxies, and propose new ideas.
Talkshop will feature informal and open discussions between Cluster participants, leading practitioners and emerging talents in digital design, offering inside perspectives on how the landscape of computational design is reshaping built form.
sg2013 SYMPOSIUMThe Symposium will examine the year's Challenge. Invited keynote speakers will showcase major projects and research from around the globe that mark out the territory of the year's Challenge. The Symposium is a unique opportunity to hear insights into the challenges ahead for the discipline.
Interwoven throughout the day will be reports and highlights from each Workshop Cluster, giving an opportunity to view work created during the previous four days of intensive collaboration, design and development.

cognises the importance of providing space for the local creative economy of the Samba Schools within the Port of Rio de Janeiro, after having ignored their incorporation within the Porto Maravilha Waterfront Regeneration Project. Using this new incorporation strategy as our impetus, the Rio de Janeiro Visiting School will work directly with this initiative and aim to broaden its scope and accessibility in an attempt to foster a diverse public space for the Cidade de Samba (Samba City) infrastructure, a large warehouse complex built by the city for the top Samba Schools in the Port of Rio, which currently has no connection to the waterfront cruise-terminal tourist infrastructure, nor any type of amenities for the general public.
The projects will include the design of both permanent structures and temporary interactive installations transforming the existing closed production area of Samba City into an open space linked to proposed leisure itineraries along the waterfront. Structures will be designed with computational design methods and built with digital fabrication techniques with the assistance of local artisans combining new materials and processes with reappropriated Carnival paraphernalia. Students will build both models and partial one-to-one prototypes of their urban, architectural and interactive design proposals.
Instruction for the Visiting School workshop series will be led by AA Tutors and Assistants and local architects and specialists, the Escola de Carnaval Artistic Directors, and Carnival float-fabricators. Specifically, participants will learn computational design using rhino, grasshopper, processing, and arduino as well as the use of c.n.c. milling and routing, laser cutting and rapid-prototyping. No previous experience is necessary. The workshop is open to architecture and design students and professionals worldwide.

ison, construct a 15' long plywood bench for Mark Weston's Digital Fabrication Studio, Spring 2013.
Rhino and Grasshopper were used to design the bench parametrically in 3D. The model was then contoured in the computer to generate 129 sections. Each section was cut out using a 3 Axis CNC Router. 520 spacers separate each contour by 3/4" to make the bench's total length. 3/8" all-thread rod runs through each segment of the bench. When tightened, the rods put the plywood pieces in compression, holding each section together without glue.
We estimate apprx. 200 man-hours went into this project over the course of less than a week. The project contains 129 contour pieces, 520 spacers, roughly 120 feet of threaded rod, 40 nuts, 40 flat washers, 40 lock washers, and 2.5 gallons of waterproof sealer.…
