to host the annual parade of Samba Schools during the Carnival festival. For the remaining 361 days of the year it stands empty and desolate as a massive dividing wall within its degraded urban context. Renovated in 2012 and now the future site for the 2016 Olympic marathon finish line and archery events, the Sambadromo is receiving renewed international attention, but it drastically needs to accommodate new types of programme and improve its connection with its surrounding context. AAVS Rio de Janeiro will explore ways to intervene within and transform the Sambadromo, with a potential focus on the VIP and Press Rooms ‘camarotes’, which were originally designed to house classrooms when Carnival was not taking place, and are now the site for over-commercialized, under-designed temporary installations during Carnival, and abandoned throughout the rest of the year. Teaching team:The teaching team will be led by Elena Manferdini, from Atelier Manferdini (www.ateliermanferdini.com), to teach and use advanced digital design and fabrication to generate iterative transformations in the creation of new micro-infrastructures. Computational and fabrication skills: The workshop will teach advanced computational design skills. A series of physical models will be built using digital fabrication techniques, such as laser-cutting and rapid-prototyping, that will be taught during the workshop. No previous digital or fabrication experience is needed. Maybe it can find it's way into GH somehow..
when using the default GH random number generator i mostly use much higher seed values.…

he resulting STL file has no problems. I was going to make a 3D print of it but I thought I could make it even more interesting.
When I make a duplicate piece of geometry with reversed curve rotation values and combine the 2 together I get this interesting result:
However, after baking this geometry the exported STL file has a huge number of errors - there are literally thousands of flipped normals, multiple mesh parts, and disconnected triangles.
I have tried lots of things to resolve this and none of them worked: converting to meshes in GH, GH mesh smooth, Rhino Solid Union, Mesh Repair, Align Normals, etc. I use 3D Builder to correct STL problems, but it can't fix this one.
An even more interesting shape happens when I twist the above shape in one direction, and then add it to another that is twisted in the opposite direction:
Of course the STL file for this one is even worse because it just compounds the previous problems.
Is there any way to resolve these problems? My GH file is somewhat messy and perhaps a bit obscure, but I'd be happy to clean it up and share it with anyone who thinks there is a way to get this puppy working.

he last nights, let me try to describe it:-disclaimer: I'm an industrial designer, my coding experience can be compared to your, when you were 4 year old :)-disclaimer 2: I did a picture at the end of the post that maybe explains more than my words
the component has 2 inputs (Start Value, End Value) and one output (Picked Value)
this phantomatic component (which I would refere to as "dynamic value picker") supports any amount of domains on every input -> it works as if they come grafted, from a "longest list" component
The component "at rest" shows only one slider -with question marks on both edges-
For every couple on inputs you connect (1 Start Value connection + 1 End Value connection) it would visually generate a new slider (exactly like a "number slider" component)main difference from the "number slider" component, this one would show the Start Value and End Value numbers at the edges of each thus generated slider
Right click -> edit on it would recall a window similar to the "number slider", with the main difference that only the first part of those options would be present (see attached image for clarity)Whatever slide accuracy you set, it will affect the whole "dinamic value picker" phantom component (if you set "integer numbers" and for any reason one or more inputs are "floating points numbers", the component automatically rounds the inputs to the best "Integer", and allows you only to pick integer numbers in-between)
If you suddenly change a "Start Value" or an "End Value" input, the affected slider/sliders in the component will try to stay as close as possible to the same % value they were before (example if the domain was from 5 to 11, integers only, and you first picked the value 8, the slider was exactly in position 50%: when you change the End Value domain to 21 the slider will set itself to 13 - yes, I picked an easy one lol )
When you first plug a couple of Start Value + End Value, the slider sets itself to Picked Value = Start Value
It could also be possible to supply negative values as Value End and positive values as Value Start: the slider let you pick a number on that domain regardless of the numerical order you use
Last thing, but it's just fancy imagination, if you zoom-in the output (Picked Value) connection dot, a little - and + appears (like in other common components), letting you add a new cursor to every existing slider (it could be possible to customize the color of the new cursor to avoid confusion)
This is the exact description of what I would ask to the lamp genie :)
I attach a pic I just did, in the hope to better explain myself: picture link
and of course thank you again for reading this long poem!

GENOVA 11 > 14 APRILE 2013 programma completo ed iscrizioni…
During the intense ten-day workshop of the AA São Paulo Visiting School 2014, advanced computational design and digital fabrication will be used to generate speculative new architecture models in the creation of a ‘liquid design’ that can mediate multiple-scale flows. The workshop will explore the redevelopment of a bordering territory along the Marginal Rivers of São Paulo, where in the 1960’s, much of the water-system was disastrously canalized, causing problematic flooding and the creation of ill-conceived residual post-industrial riverbanks that are inhabited by monolithic, large-scale programs such as sports centers, distribution centers, mega-stores and a convention center. The Visiting School São Paulo will work on bringing a new urban life for these sites by redefining the existing macro-architectural typologies along the river with micro-scale interventions that can introduce new flows of urban street culture. Specifically, the workshop will focus on the reinvention of the large-scale market distribution center, CEAGESP (Companhia de Entrepostos e Armazéns Gerais de São Paulo), to introduce programs and structures that could mediate a new movement of people, commerce, and environmental forces using parametric design and fabrication. Students can choose to work either at the larger architectural scale or at the scale of the shop-front display, bringing a new contemporary interface between agricultural production and consumption.
-Teaching team The teaching team will include lead tutor Hart Marlow of su11 (www.su11.com) who specialize in advanced digital design, and local-based architects, to promote innovative strategies informed by local political, economic and environmental issues. -Computational skills
The workshop will teach advanced digital modeling and parametric design skills and rapid prototyping software: no previous experience is needed. A group of specialist computation tutors will conduct an initial skills workshop and continue to assist throughout the workshop to develop the individual projects of the participants. -Digital Fabrication A series of physical models will be built using digital fabrication techniques that will be taught during the workshop, no previous experience is needed.
