and visualizing data for ENVI-Met 4 software. ENVI-met is a cutting edge software used to analyse microclimate interactions in urban environment. Tens of different analysis types can be performed on the chosen building context. From Mean radiant temperature and local Wind speed to CO2 concentration and Pollutant dispersion in the air. To generate the building context for Ladybug ENVI-met components, Antonello used Gismo:
An example similar to results in upper screenshots has been been attached below. To run it, Gismo, Ladybug and Human plugins need to be installed. To perform the ENVI-met analysis, download ENVI-met 4 Basic for free, and install it. Steps in the .gh example file have been labelled from 1 to 11. They mostly consist of just setting a boolean toggle to True. An exception to this are steps 6 (set the folder path of your ENVI-met application install folder), and 8 (running the ENVI-met simulation). Step 8 has been explained in detail in the photo attached below (step8.jpg). Special thanks to Antonello for developing and guidance on ENVI-met application and components! Post questions below if you have any issues!…

teraction for its Correlations cycle, AA Athens Visiting School scales up its design intentions in order to investigate links among discrete individual architectural systems in its 2013 version, Recharged.
Recharged with interconnectivity on different levels, the theme of investigation will revolve around the design of semi-independent design prototypes acting together to form elaborate unified results. The driving force in Cipher City: Recharged is the synergistic effect behind complex form-making systems where interactive design patterns arise out of a multiplicity of relatively simple rules.
In collaboration with the National Technical University of Athens, Cipher City: Recharged will explore participatory design and active engagement modeling and will continue building novel prototypes upon horizontal planes.
As in 2012, the design agendas of AA Athens and AA Istanbul Visiting Schools will directly create feedback on one another, allowing participation in either one or both Programmes.
Discounts
The AA offers several discount options for participants wishing to apply as a group or participants wishing to apply for both AA Istanbul and AA Athens Visiting Schools:
1. Standard application
The AA Visiting School requires a fee of £695 per participant, which includes a £60 Visiting Membership. If you are already a member, the total fee will be reduced automatically by £60 by the online payment system. Fees are non refundable.
2. Group registration
For group applications, there will be a range of discounts depending on the number of people in the group. The discounted fee will be applied to each individual in the group.
Type A. 3-6 people group: £60 (AA Membership fee) + 635*0.75 = £536.25 (25 %) Type B. 6-15 people group: £60 + 635*0.70 = £504.5 (30%) Type C. more than 15 people group: £60 + 635*0.65 = £472.75 (35%)
3. Participants attending both AA Istanbul and AA Athens | 40% discount
For people wishing to attend both AA Istanbul 2013 and AA Athens 2013, a discount of 40% will be made for each participant. (The participant will pay the £60 membership fee only once.)
£60 (AA Membership fee) + (635*0.60)*2 = £822
For more information in discounts, please visit:

Friday. I also have some work being exhibited which is in the last link.
My understanding is that the event is out of student seats but that there may be some professional seats to the workshops still available.

TEX-FAB is a Texas-based network of companies, institutions, and individuals focused on providing a platform for the exchange and exploration of issues related to parametric design and digital fabrication. We are focused on providing a platform for the exchange and exploration of issues related to parametric design and digital fabrication and in leveraging the immense resources found in some of the largest metropolitan centers across the United States.
TEX-FAB is uniquely positioned to serve as a bridge between academia, the professional design office, and industrial fabricators throughout the state. Our primary efforts are expressed through three fundamental avenues: lectures, workshops/exhibitions and competitions/commissions. Collectively these components combine to provide a forum for the exchange of ideas, information, and the mutual interest in transforming the design process through digital technology.

2. See this? It's a abstract (for the moment) layout of some WIP thing: Imagine a region where "evenly" random points are placed (and then a random zNoise is added) - then a ball-pivot/delauney triangulation is applied ... then ... :
2. I use my method to create "even" points (I suspect that David's is way better/faster/cooler ... but anyway): after a random point is found (inside the region) an additional check is performed: think of the point as a "candidate" that must "pass" a 2nd constrain: if the min distance from all the already found (random) points is smaller than a user defined one > reject and try again (the "try-again" thing [call it: min distance "loops"] is also user controllable). Thus that C# captured attempts to place 122 points but due to (a) the min distance constrain AND (b) the low (about 8 in this case) amount of "try-again" loops it finishes with "only" 59 (not a big deal for this case). The interesting part is that the attempts required are 1573 (~30 times the random points returned). Of course there's a lot of factors affecting this 1573 (variable) thing ... but don't stick to that.
3. So if David uses a "similar" culling method (add some " " more, he he) ... for 80K points ... well we are talking about a BIG number of attempts.
I can provide you with a "no-even" random points C# that (I assume/guess/hope) can speed things a bit (after all: who's gonna notice an "even" random distribution of 80K points within a micro cube?).
best, Peter

3d.com/group/anemone). changing a gene will start the loop which iterates for 5 times. The loop will output a mesh at each iteration, however the one we want to optimize is the fifth result. So we have a gate that opens when the iteration reaches 5 and passes both the mesh and the objectives to Octopus.
When running Octopus, we are facing the following:
- Neither the labels of the axes nor the results are appearing in the Octopus solution space, although we have the axes names shown in the axes list.
- Though sometimes octopus is running, it is generating solutions more than the set population ( population of 5 individuals and 3 generation is generating more than 30 individuals and all in generation 1 ).
- Even when reseting Octopus doesn't reset. Octopus adds new individuals/phenotypes to the generation instead of starting fresh
- When it crashes the following is shown in the octopus error log (reduction of environmental selection did not yield the correct archive sizeError), ( I have seen the post by Stan regarding the same error message in the log).
I have attached a diagram showing the overall logic and a screen shots ( which I hope they are clear).

The thing is that if I raise the -aa parameter from 0.05 to 0.1 all works fine..
Is this only related to my PC then?? What should I do to solve this issue?
Thanks again for your help
