In Rhino however a rectangle is defined as only a plane and two numeric intervals (one for x, one for y). The possible solutions to this would be:
Extend the Rhino SDK Rectangle3d type to include constant radius fillet corners. This can be done, but is a lot of work and will break the SDK.
Create a new type in Grasshopper which is smarter than Rectangle3d. This complicates developing for Grasshopper because now you have to keep two different types in mind whereas before only one was needed.
Remove the Fillet Radius input from Rectangle components. I like this solution because it results in cleaner, simpler code, but it does mean people may need to use two components where before one was sufficient.
Make the Rectangle type smart enough so that it can recognise filleted rectangles and undo the filleting. This is something I can do right now for Grasshopper 1.0 and it in all likelihood would not break actual existing files even though it is technically a behavioural change.
I'll try and get (4) done for Rhino 6 SR1, I might decide to do (3) for Grasshopper 2.0. I sincerely doubt that (1) will ever get done and I dislike (2).…

We want to develop open source architecture, and be able to reuse easily open source elements of projects shared by the community.
We are interested to display the 3D files in the browser, thanks to connection with external services like http://beta.speckle.xyz or others though at the moment it is not yet available.
When I discovered the grasshoper forum, I liked the fact that people talk very openly about their modelling problems and share definition files...
But I think Bricks could be a complementary publication mode, to find in a glance an element with all its geometry and a link back to the forum post to join the discussion.
Indeed when I work as an architect, I have not always the time to browse a forum with all its discussions to find a suitable element for my project.
I've quickly reposted 2-3 forums posts to test it out.
I would love to have your feedbacks on this new way of publishing grasshoper definition files and more globally 3d reusable geometries.
Here you can see a single definition or the list of definitions that can be classified at the left thanks to custom categories.
If you create an account and upload a few definitions and 3d images and files, you could also tell us, what you think of this process.

Bad news: real-life AEC trusses are far and away from lines.
Ugly news: Rhino is NOT an AEC app by any means nor it would ever be. For AEC app I mean the known 3 (Allplan, Revit and my favorite: AECOSim) and/or proper MCAD apps (like CATIA/NX). In plain English : without exporting (meaning (a) bake in nested blocks + (b) export via STEP) proper structured data (assembly/component) this WIP case is absolutely useless.

3. We've added a specular option in the rendering settings. So now you can have your design rendered a little bit shinny-er.
4. There is also a "filters" option in this panel, with which you can get some interesting image post processing effects. We are expanding this filter library, if you have any suggestions, please let us know.
5. This one is very important and has been requested by our customers for a long time. Now when you upload a model, you can grab the reviews(3d comments, screenshots,sketches) from your previously uploaded model! This works really conveniently if you use Modelo for your design review/presentation, cause you don't have to recreate the same 3d anchor views every time you made some changes to your design.
6. Also, our developer API is almost ready, which means if anyone is interested in developing a grasshopper plugin that works with Modelo, they can!

to run at full screen. I've gone as far as using an iPad to use as the second monitor via AirDisplay (which actually works really well) but have never been satisfied with any setup that required you to look back and forth as if at a tennis match all day long.
Not long after first using Grasshopper 3+ years ago I've had the desire for a "Live Viewport" component that would allow a live image of the 3d geometry being generated directly in the canvas. Every once in a while I search the forums with the hope of finding a solution, but always come up empty handed. Someday this might exist although for now I have found what might be the next best thing to a native "Live Viewport" component and its enabled with a small app named Sticky Previews. This app uses the task bar preview feature within Windows 7's aero interface to create custom, floating preview windows from any open window currently running. I've only just discovered the app, but it seems to do the trick and has been stable and problem free so far. -- I will post an update if I find out that I might have spoken too soon. The install allows for a 30 day trial and is $15 bucks to purchase. I just found the app and don't know anything about this group that created the app. If you happen to know of them, Id be curious to find out more.

2. This atroci ... er ... hmm ... I mean unspeakable beauty uses an exo-skeletal load bearing structure hence is THAT big (BTW: Apparently nobody knows what thermal bridge is nor thermal expansion nor vapor condensation ... but these are "minor" details these holly blob days, he he).
3. 2 means that some nodes of that "grid" MUST "meet" floors in order to support them and (hopefully) withstand some seismic forces. BTW: A Richter scale 9 (for an hour) is all what this building actually needs (that's acid "humor").
4. The "smarter" way to do this is to spread "some" (i.e a lot) random points (Note: David's algo yields "evenly-spaced-points" within the limits of the possible) on the guide blob (a polysurface in fact).
5. Then ... you need some algo that tests proximity AND "adjusts" the Z in order to have some node points "co-planar" (Z) with the floors.
6. Then you triangulate all that stuff (the points, that is) using some decent Ball Pivot Algorithm (NOT Delauney) and you get a triangulated mesh that "engulfs" the guide blob. If you want some quads (as shown) this is also possible.
7. So you have edges ... i.e poly lines (per mesh face) and if you offset them ... you have "drilling" profiles that you must use against a second guide "thickened" blob for creating a continuously smooth exo-skeletal LBS (as shown). Of course Rhino (being a surface modeller) could require years to do this solid difference opp (or an eternity).
8. Rounding the "lips" of that LBS Brep is out of question with Rhino or GH (but it can been done very easily using other apps). Then you must "split" the Brep (in modules? in nodes + "rodes"? you tell me) in order to make it in real-life (what about forgetting all that?, he he).
9. Then, there's the glazing thingy that is made via quads meaning planarity. This is achievable with Kangaroo2 but is a bit tricky.
Moral: WHAT a gigantic pile of worms is this thread of yours...

In that case:Right click on the ghpython.gha file, and choose "Properties". If there is an "Unblock" button click on it, and then click on "OK". If there is no "Unblock" button, just click on "OK".
After completion of either of these two steps, close Rhino and Grasshopper, and run them again.
Let us know if worked.
On creation of buildings: Gismo will generate 3d buildings by extracting the height or number of stories data from .osm file.
The user itself does not need to do this manually.…

wich is nice actually :-) But I had 2 problems that make every thing just impossible to use : DIRECTION OF STEPS :
The motor can just reach one direction (for exemple clockwise) and when comes time to switch... not possible.
Details : When I put a value in HD.SM in V input, I put for exemple 100 with a slider so i have 100 steps and it works. Then I write 200, still working. and when I put a value that is less than the last higher value, for exemple 180 in my case the motor go endless to an higher amount, i mean 201,202,203...1000 etc... Dont undestand why :-/ SPEED : The speed is really really slow.
Details : The Firefly stepmotor component use the same library as heteroduino wich is Accelstepper.h but still going way faster. I tried lot of values in the S input (speed) but is not changing the speed that much, and sometimes its even changing the steps.
If there is another place where I have to post this, let me know also and I'll do it :-)
