and the degree of your periodic curve is 3, then start picking one point to the left. If the degree is 5, start pickin 2 points to the left, etc.
Every curve has a domain. A domain is a numeric range defined by two numbers (a lower and an upper bound). Within the domain, the curve exists and the equations which govern the geometry of the curve yield decent answers. The lower limit represents the start of the curve, the upper limit the end of the curve. Everywhere in between you can evaluate curve properties (position, tangency, curvature and any other derivatives, tension, torsion etc. etc.).
There is no significance attached to the actual numbers in a domain. All that is required is that the lower limit is smaller than the upper limit. When we create curves in Rhino we tend to pick domains that represent the length of a curve, but if you scale a curve afterwards you change the length, but not the domain.
Curve parameters are numbers inside this domain. Basically, think of all curves as finite line segments which can be bend, kinked and stretched in 3D space. Curve parameters are locations on the 1-dimensional space that is defined by the line. The curve equations are all about converting those one-dimensional parameters into three-dimensional points and vectors.
Like I said, the mathematics are pretty involved and periodic curves are more difficult still.

ual not tactile. i havnt touched the roof of my house i have been living in since 25 years yet its a part of my space. its still a visual plane between me and sky ( except that it protects me from rain). anyway, the point was to reconstruct huge cathedrals without moving big amount of earth.I came up with Nuun lense ( i had in sketches, it will be shorter form of this ugly cube, probably in mms) which will line the necessary floors and stairs-wells and towers.
During my experiment I realized this can be used for visualizing architectural spaces in real time, specially for arch student, it could be used as a console, that can replace cad and other 3d softwares. you can draw basic grids, orthogonal shapes ( not Zaha hadid stuff ). I still am very enthusiastic about this idea. I want to see it function some day.
Grasshopper was used to drive poor reflectors through firefly, to bend laser.( it failed badly) Its just for idea if anybody likes to follow, i dont have enough resources but it would make me happy if some day i see students working on realtime laser models and building having virtual ornamentation.

En consecuencia, los alumnos tendrán la posibilidad de disminuir sus tiempos de trabajo, con resultados iguales o incluso mejores a los que obtenían con anterioridad; mejorar la calidad de sus presentaciones y, lo que es más importante, ampliar la fundamentación de sus proyectos en el aspecto funcional y formal, dependiendo de las características del proyecto.
Para lograr estos objetivos, se contemplan dos temarios y un ejercicio práctico.
Al finalizar el curso, los asistentes serán capaces de manejar Rhinoceros y Grasshopper en un nivel medio, con el objetivo que el alumno pueda continuar aprendiendo con alguno de nuestros siguientes workshops o de manera autodidacta.
Además del contenido teórico se incluye un ejercicio práctico, la magnitud del ejercicio y el material que se le destine se definirán con base en el número de asistentes.
El workshop tiene una duración de cinco sesiones:

Sesión 2 y 3 – Temario de Grasshopper
Sesión 4 y 5 – Ejercicio práctico
El horario es de 9 am a 4 pm, con una hora de receso para tomar un refrigerio.
No es necesario traer el equipo necesario para trabajar, se cuenta con un equipo para cada persona asi como el material de trabajo para el ejercicio práctico, por lo cual se les recomienda que no traigan portátiles u otro material, únicamente dispositivos de almacenamiento si desean guardar sus trabajos.
El costo del evento es de $3,500 estudiantes y $4,000 profesionales.

es, but I have a sneaking suspicion that it's the same problem. If I save the GH file, then try to reopen it, it always gets the error Marios shows above. The file still opens, but the Crv parameter with the internalized data is gone.
For even more fun and excitement, if I instead try to select the Crv parameter and make a cluster, it crashes all of Rhino. I sent that to McNeel with the Rhino error reporting tool, but I've also included the three files here.
I zipped all the files together; let me know if you can't access something.
Now, I'm one of those crazy Mac people, and McNeel already sent the standard "you shouldn't use Rhino in Parallels" reply, but I'm guessing this problem has nothing to do with lack of 3D acceleration. I've been working on a giant GH script and some involved Rhino files for months, in Parallels, with no problem.
More info: Before this error, I saved another script with a cluster containing an earlier version of my internalized number tags, and I can still open that script and use it. I included the 3dm and gh files for this; they are the ones named, jokingly, "elegant ..."
Between saving the "elegant" version, which worked, and the newer GH file that generates the error, there were some updates that Windows 7 installed, so I wonder if that might have something to do with it. If you want some Windows system files pertaining to this, let me know. I've included a screenshot of the latest Windows updates.
Other than the Win7 updates, I can't think of anything else that's changed. Before this error began I already had all the latest versions of Rhino 4, GH, Parallels, and Mac OS X Lion.

lot - therefore I can not really understand what they did. I really like what you did but you took it too far. I am more interested in the circle and the square points and how you got them to change the shape along the curve. I will dissect your file and see if I can transfer the idea into one plane - as flat as it gets - probably going to take me a while.
What I want to do is this - in simple 2d - I will extrude it after I pick the shape that I like best that can be obtained from this morphing of 2d shapes
And I have managed to do it in a 3d form see cube (run the galapagos simulator) and the galapagos files - galapagos will make my shape move from a circle to a whatever shape - but i don't know what parameters I can input before that.
I just need to morph or whatever it is called the base of the future building or/and each level - individually - extruding after and placing in the right position should not be so difficult. I tried with loft before I wrote this post but if you open the file you will see my little disaster - please don't laugh too hard I am still new at this :P - that is also why my explanation of what I want is not that accurate.

I've been reading up a bit on procedural/generative modelling, shape grammars, etc. But the first basic problem I've run into, is that all the devices I'm interested in generating have filleted edges, and I've read that Grasshopper can't do that, because the FilletEdge command is not exposed in the SDK. I did read however that in Rhino 6, fillets will have history - so I wonder if that opens it up to Grasshopper at some point in the (hopefully not too far) future? Or is there some other approach that would help in generating these kind of forms in Grasshopper?
I guess most people doing this kind of generative modelling for CG/games would use Houdini or 3DS Max, but I want to be able to actually build some of these things with 3D printing/CNC, so I think I would be better off in the NURBS/solids world? I also looked at Solidworks/Inventor, which do very well with parametric fillets, but it seems like it would be difficult to get them to do the kind of generative stuff that Grasshopper can do, fooling around with Excel spreadsheets and formulas. Unless I missed some kind of Grasshopper-like plugin or scripting system for them?
Anyway, comments appreciated. I can imagine Grasshopper being quite useful for industrial design concept exploration, surprised that I haven't seen more of it...

Our ultimate goal is to increasing the efficiency of utilizing digital tools in parallel with geometric performance of the primitive design agent.

Fashion and Architecture are both based on basic life necessities – clothing and shelter.
However, they are also forms of self-expression – for both creators and consumers.
Both fashion and architecture affect our emotional being in many ways.
The agenda of this workshop is to investigate on the overlap between these two areas of design, art & fashion.
Fashion and architecture express ideas of personal, social and cultural identity, reflecting the concerns of the user and the ambition of the age. Their relationship is a symbiotic one and throughout history, clothing and buildings have echoed each other in form and appearance. This only seems natural as they not only share the primary function of providing shelter and protection for the body, but also because they both create space and volume out of flat, two-dimensional materials.
While they have much in common, they are also intrinsically different – address the human scale, but the proportions, sizes and shapes differ enormously.
+ + + OBJECTIVES
So far, Architects have been using techniques such as folding, bending etc. to create space, structural roofs or different other structural shapes.
The agenda of this workshop goes further with the investigation of algorithmic thinking through generative tools Integrated in design.
The challenge is creating a bridge that connects these two areas of design, architecture and fashion that perform at two opposite scales.

In the early stages physical models and low-tech strategies will be used, allowing the participants to gain a greater understanding of materials, fabrication and assembly methods as well as simple, yet pragmatic structural solutions.
