ery easy to figure out and I just can't get it.
I have 5 different lengths that I want to displace over one longer curve multiple times. I want to assign each length to a letter (EX 1=A, 1.3=B, 2=C, 2.5=D, 2.7=E) and then create my own pattern (EX C,E,B,C,E,A,etc.). I would like to use the points inbetween the each of the distances to then offset a certain length and create a curve between the two so that I can make my own irregular ribbon pattern.
This only the beginning of what I want to do, eventually I would like to look similar to the picture attached with the diagonal lines inbetween the ribbon lines.

The second day of the conference, the Symposium, will feature invited keynote speakers showcasing major projects and research from around the globe that mark out the territory of the year's Challenge. The Symposium is a unique opportunity to hear insights into the challenges ahead for the discipline.
Interwoven throughout the day will be reports and highlights from each Workshop Cluster, giving an opportunity to view work created during the previous four days of intensive collaboration, design and development.

at STL files of "thickened" wireframes.
The problem underneath, is that we are not dealing with 2d or 2.5d meshes, but a bunch of lines, intersecting in 3d vertex, wich globally are not topologically related, but its ideally a 3d spatial structure.
As fas as we know:
option1: mesh/solid boolean
>between tubes, for the edges, and spheres at each vertex.
>it happens to get many errors in Magics & crashes quickly with big structures and many meshes.
option 2: isosurface
>either isosurf , or realflow works fine for high blending needs, and small pieces
>looks always good but does not seem to fit slender tubular structures fabrication purposes
option 3: 3-matic software
>used by prototyping industry, seems to repair everything
>expensive, unaffordable, exceptionally
option4: topological extrude
>topologically solve the extrusion of a vertex with many edges, generating non overlapped geometry. For 2d and 2,5 D, it works, but our attempts in maya fail everytime we try with 3D vertices.
> we believe there has to be a geometrical mesh trick
(we imagine Giulio Piacentino's Weaver Bird could have this useful feature)

So far, i've been working with them as data tree, therefore i have a "3 dimensional" setup(Paths are [X,Y}(Z))
i'm an absolute begginer in any programming language, but so far i've done something like this:ps: d is just an input, thats the number of dimensions,
both k and T are the lists of matrixes.well, i'm hoping to get one matrix list as an output, what is what i attempted by the c{m} up there, and if possible eventually(after some more operations) bring them back to data tree format.any ideas?Thanks!Bruno…

at keeps me from modifying 'easier' the structure (in the same time not much time to study it since its for school). What I am intending to do next is to create 2 vertical 'pillars' (always in space frame), placed on the extremities, which would have its starting points(of the lines that generates the frame) at the center of a certain sphere (for exampling for the length 3 spheres..)going perpendicular to the 'ground' (plan x,y). So I do understand more or less how it works and all, but don't know the use of many functions from GH (started using since september 2014)....
Could please someone help me, ( if possible explain me) how to do it what to use ( using a language for a Noob to understand) Thx to whoever responded to my help 'demand' and may you be blessed :D

I tried so many different ways but none worked !i need 3 layers, each layer has a different number of points, so there will be different size of holes. ( I think I've reached this point )I used a pop2d -> 2D Voronoi -> Scaled ( dist from curve ) but I want all three layers connected to each other, i tried also 3D Voronoi and the Voronax Plugin and none worked !I'm so confused :D

2. In what sort of animal these "shaders" are to be used? Meaning that designing a "Viz" control for 2345,67 mini-membranes is one thing and doing it for your house is a totally different challenge. In plain English: it's more than possible to hit the Wall if lot's and lot's of items are invited to the party (you bring the girls and I'll provide the Vodka).
3. Do you like the idea of completely separating (on a spatial basis) input/viz control (what is on display and on what level of "detail") from the core logic (i.e. components). Pros: obvious, Cons: obvious.
4. Is this def planned as a "constant" evolution thing? Meaning that using, say, the mapper isn't the best idea if your input goes from {a;b;c} to {a;b;c;d;g;...;z}.
5. Have you any - even academic - plans (see 1) to walk the walk up to the end?. Meaning talking to Birdair/Taiyo Kogyo etc etc ( http://www.birdair.br.com/ ). If yes be prepared because these fellas work a bit differently as regards potential collaboration and feedback at design phase.

o it would cause troubles with unfolding and fabricating... that's why I used Extrude point component- it will give you similar result, but all surfaces are planar.. you can control extrusion direction with a tip point in rhino...
2)I changed tagging so every tube has 8 points form list A and 8 points from list B... first number of tag is a number of point within one tube... last number of the tag is order of tubes (I draw a little picture in GH, hope you'll understand)...I think original way of tagging wasn't really usefull.. but you can change tagging by yourself...
3) the definition is really messy, sorry about that, but it's just quite complicated task...
4)if you find some incorrect order of tagging, use the slider that controls Shift List component ... it will shift tagging..
5) if you won't be using this definition or find some better way, pleeeease don't tell me - I'll jump out the window :D ... it took me whole day to make it work :D
6)I can't guarantee you anything- I hope it works, but if not - at least I tried... so check everything (especially order of tags and points) twice before you fabricate it.. or print few tubes and make them paper first..
7)there is a part of original definition, that is not useful anymore.. I left it there, but you can delete it (I called it "UNUSED PARTS OF ORIGINAL FILE")

background: I'm recreating elbows, Tees, and other fittings using
paramatric scripts, then baking and exporting them. Here's one source

Current Setup: the attached ghx file. Create a point at 0,5,0 in a blank
document with units set to inches, then assign that point to the top
left 'Center Pnt' in the ghx file.
Current workflow:
a) Modify variables A, B, H, and Nominal Dia to match one line from the
table in the linked PDF file, page 5, table of regular elbows.
b) Select the 'Nodes' and 'Surfaces' with a drag box
c) Click 'Bake'
d) Switch to Rhino window, do the 'sellast' command.
e) Drag baked objects along Y axis so the center point is at 0,0,0
f) Run 'Join'
g) Run 'Cap'
h) set the 'node' points to a layer called 'nodes'
i) set the surface to a layer called 'fit-3d'.
j) select the surfaces and nodes
k) export selected
This elbow that I'm doing only has 12 rows, so doing it the above method
doesn't take THAT long. I'm also going to be doing a couple with larger
tables like the Tee on page 8, and in other spec files. As you can
imagine, entering in EACH value into a slider is a bit tedious.
I'd love to take the pdf table, run it through an OCR program to convert
to excel, modify the headers so the ghx script knows what they are, then
paste it into grasshopper, or save it and have grasshopper read it, and
I be able to move a slider or something to to select one line at a time.
Has anyone done something similar? ie: assigned one row in a table to a
predefined set of variables, each variable coming from one field in the row?
