Hi Matthew, Thanks for such a swift response and sorry for the false alarm. After reinstalling Karamba the examples open without a problem.
I hoped that the examples will clarify something, unfortunately you do not use Beam Resultant Forces' output as a source of optimization criteria/objective there.
I am still having problem with the fact that Beam Resultant Forces component gives a list of zeros as a 1st output till it finishes calculation.
This is my case: 1. Karamba calculates normal forces in elements that are in the mast's traversal plane (mast sections, spreaders and wires (shrouds)). 2. Normal forces in forestays and backstays are calculated analytically elsewhere. 3. Having the normal forces in the wires, the algorithm selects the wires' diameters (having given the wires catalogue), calculates their weights and centers of gravity. 4. Objectives are: minimizing the mass and minimizing the VCG (vertical centre of gravity). They are convergent, but constraint (minimal sail area) is dealing with it. 5. The thing is that normal forces from Karamba and calculated analytically arrives at different times (Karamba need a bit more time). I tried to delay the other data (till Karamba finishes calculation) with Data Dam, Anemone's Time Buffer, Phyton/C#/VB components, but all of them caused that Octopus/Wallacei weren't working correctly.
Any idea comes to your mind how this problem might be solved?
Thanks, Mikołaj…
be done easier, but later on the geometry will change and therefore this seems the better option. But coming back to the problem
First, there were some problems concerning the zone, although it seems solved still the “runenergysimulation” gives the following warning:
1. The simulation has not run correctly because of this severe error:
** Severe ** UpdateZoneSizing: Cooling supply air temperature (calculated) within 2C of zone temperature
Do one of you know what went wrong? It probably will solve most of it.
Second, “set Zone Thresholds” gives the following warning:
1. Solution exception:global name 'maxHumidity_' is not defined
However, the component is missing the max humidity input on the list, has this to do something with the error?
All the components are up to date.
I hope it will be an easy fix.

... and on a PC without anything attached to the serial port. When you open the port, start the read component and its timer, do you then get a stream of <empty> values in the log output? (hmmm... I suppose that's only reasonable - but still, you are also seeing this?)
I suppose that, because of the mutually exclusive behavior of both the spider and grasshopper (i.e. only one at a time can access the COM port), we can deduce that we are listening on the correct port.
Am I listening on the correct pin (if such a notion makes sense at all)? If I look back to the spider software, I see that 9 channels are listed and that it's only the measured value on channel 0 that changes when I press the load cell. Channels 1, 2, and 3 report OVERFLOW; 4, 5, 6, and 7 are pretty much constant at 0.000 to 0.005 V; and channel 8 says FFFF. I do not know how things like that work so I do not know if they reflect reading from the 9 pins on the D-sub 9 connector.
As for your BTW question: no, I don't need to record all of the sensor values. I suppose that the Out value on the Read component will always reflect the most current value and that's all that I need to get on with life. In the end, the idea is that we have 4 load cells in the 4 corners of a plate onto which a vertical pipe is fixed. Loads are then put on the top end of the pipe and we'll have to visualize both direction and magnitude of the bending moment that is calculated from the compression - tension readings from the load cells... We've done this on a scaled model and streamed load cell information into MatLab. Now we'll have to use a different datalogger and I was hoping to be able to do the post processing in Rhino.

nually in Rhino works the bool command perfectly (with the GH BReps from your definition).
Have you tested your file in the latest version of GH and have you also Boolen the error?

imilar topic with a Windows 10 user, which successfully fixed this issue. If you are tiny little patient, I think we can try the same steps in your Windows 7 case. For start, try these three steps:1) Close Rhino. Restart your PC. 2) Once the PC boots up, double click on the "regMapWinGIS.cmd" file in "MapWinGIS" installation folder.3) When it closes the Command Prompt window it opened, try running Rhino, Grasshopper and drop the "Gismo Gismo" component on the canvas (Grasshopper working area). If this does not help (you get the same COM class factory CLSID error message coming out from the "Gismo Gismo" component), then try the following steps, one by one:
1) Close Grasshopper and Rhino2) Run the Revo Uninstaller Pro and uninstall your MapWinGIS application along with removing all the leftovers from the registry. You can download 30 days trial version of it from here. Here is a youtube example of a bit older Revo Uninstaller. But the important part is that is shows how registry leftovers are removed.3) Restart your PC, and once it boots again, make sure that you are logged in as an Adminstrator!4) In your Start menu's search box type: "UAC", which will find your User Account Control Settings. Click on it, and a new window will open. Set the bar on the left to "Never notify".5) Turn off your Antivirus, which ever it is.6) Download the 64 bit version of v4.9.4.2 MapWinGIS.7) Right click on downloaded MapWinGIS-only-v4.9.4.2-x64.exe file, and choose "Properties". If there is "Unblock" button click on it, and then click on "OK". If there is no "Unblock" button, just click on "OK".8) Left double click on MapWinGIS-only-v4.9.4.2-x64.exe file and install it to "C:\dev\MapWinGIS" folder. Choose "Full installation" during installation process!9) In your Start menu's search box type: "CMD". Once the "Command prompt" appears do not left click on it! Instead right click on it, and choose "Run as Administrator".10) A command prompt window will open. Type the following command:
"your_regsvr32_folder_path\regsvr32.exe" /u /s c:\dev\mapwingis\mapwingis.ocx
If command does not result in an error message, then type this one afterwards:
"your_regsvr32_folder_path\regsvr32.exe" /s c:\dev\mapwingis\mapwingis.ocx
11) If no error appeared again, then open your Rhino and Grasshopper and check what "Gismo Gismo" component prints from its "readMe!" output. If errors appeared, please post their screenshots. Thank you in advance.
Please accept my apologies for the large number of steps. Some of them are quite simple actually (click on this, download that...).…

hopper and the GH file.
2. There is a drop down menu at the top of Pure Data that reads "Media". Click on "Midi". If your device connection is working, you should see it show up as an option. Set the device to MIDI in. You don't really need to set a MIDI out unless you are planning to send messages back to the device (not sure why you would want to).
3. The boxes labeled "ctlin" with a number are the Control Change in's. In Pure Data go to the "Edit" menu and click on "Edit Mode". Click on one of the "ctlin #" boxes and change the number to match the Control Change number of your physical controller. Mine starts with 5 in the upper right and goes to 65. Each control change number shows up on the display window of my device when I use it which made it easy.
4. Continue this process for all your controls. Delete the unneccesary "ctlin #" boxes by selecting them with a fence and clicking "delete". When you hover over one of the wires you should see and "x". Press the "backspace" key to delete it.
5. Now go down to the "pack f f f ..." box. There should be as many "f" or "floats" in that box as there are you number of controllers. Delete the remaining "f".
6. Next look at the box below that reads "send /0...". Make sure to keep the "/0". If you delete the "/" it will crash Grasshopper. Change the number "5" to match your first control change number. Leave the $numbers alone. You'll want to keep them sequential. Continue change the control change numbers to match all of yours. The $numbers should match the order in which you wired each controller to the "pack f f f..." box.
7. For testing purposes hover over the input on the upper let of the "print" box and connect it to the out of the "send" box. If everything is mapped correctly, working properly, and you go back to the "main" PD window you should see a list of all controllers will a value (0 to 127) next to it. As you turn a knob, the value next to the control change number will increase from 0 to 127. This will give you a good indication of whether or not everything is working and if you mapped it correctly.
8. Click on the "connect OSC" box. You might need to exit out of "edit mode" and back to "performance" mode in the PD canvas.
9. Go To Grasshopper. If everything is working you should see the Panel read "new message" when you turn a knob. At this point it should be pretty obvious how to modify the Grasshopper components. I've tried to keep everything as consistent as possible. Since I filtered out the "/0", the "explode data treat" component starts at 0, the numbers are shifted down by 1.
I just left the IP address, etc. alone on the gHowl UDP component. Just make sure the "port number" matches the OSC port number on the send in Pure Data. If you crash, you may need to choose a new number.
Hope that helps. Let me know if you have any questions. If your computer is not recognizing your midi controller, you may need to install "Midiyoke". I did at first, but it turns out I didn't need it after all.
Best of luck.
