And I frankly if I want to participate I´ll need to finnish up the board and i cant do the renders on my own I need more time , but I only have until 11:59 pm of July 6 to finnish up one render, if you feel up to the challenge, whoever completes it will receive 290 dollars (its all I can give) to any account you want. I basically need one single image.
It consists on 3 towers, with an organic facade, I'm including the competition board I had saved on in my dropbox, I want more or less the same perspective shown on the left of the board.
Sorry, but i'm desperate, I had it all done but well cant control everything in life i guess, only do it if you feel you can pull off a professional render.

e curve and uses the resulting surface/subdivisions to:
1. Smooth wall surface, varied via the Image Mapper
2. Segmented wall surface, varied via the Image Mapper
3. Populate the surface with spheres (with or without the "wall" surface)
4. Ribbed wall surface (Horizontal and / or Vertical)
5. Protrussions from the surface, driven by Image Sampler
6. Wall of Tubes, driven by Image Sampler
7. Gridded Web Surface
The options have to be enabled/disabled to achieve various results, but the idea is that this script permits a variety of looks, all in one script. See attachments at bottom.
I think this is a decent example file showing a variety of things that can be done using the Image Sampler Component in Grasshopper. This is a working version, so I am sure there are a lot better ways to achieve some of these effects. Hopefully, this will help some of you out and / or inspire some ew idea.
In the script, there is a User Object I downloaded from digitalsubstance. It is a self contained point attractor cluster, super cool, super fun. Link to the site is below.

Goals:
The goal is to create a grasshopper routine that recreates a modifiable design concept as shown in the concept images. The following parameters should be modifiable
1) The size and elevation of all the basic triangles, circles and the ellipse.
2) The elevation and shape of the opening and the shape and size of the three legs.
3) The shape of the crown. The angle of the tilted ellipse.
4) The loft shape between the edges.
5) The grid size (U,V) of the diagrid.
6) The size of the 2 pipes used for the structure.
Rhino Grasshopper Workflow:
I attempted Boolean difference of a solid (Brep) and the surface in question to create the opening in the surface as shown above but that did not work. What should i do to recreate the concept in grasshopper ? I would appreciate any feedback and advice. Thank you very much !

I followed these instructions, succeeded to build Tetgen, placed the built files in C drive directory and tried to run the definition. Then some WindowsError came out as follows which I don't know how to fix.
My working environment is;
OS is Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit.
Rhino is version 5, 64 bit.
Grashoppper is version 0.9.0076, the latest version at this moment.
It would be great if I can have some help advice / comment.

d octopus - with karamba causing octopus to crash when running (I believe).
I happen to have visual studio installed; and it reports the following error once it crashes:
"Unhandled exception at 0x00007FF9ADB520B0 (karamba.dll) in Rhino.exe: Fatal program exit requested. occurred"
Attached is the definition file with baked geometry if this helps.
I am currently running Rhino 6 with the latest karamba build.
Details
I aim to create a parametric bridge model - optimising weight and deflection (structural) as well as proximity of 3 movable loads (architectural). The geometry creation is a bit complicated, however I do not think this can ever fail; as I have stress tested this.
The setup for octopus is as follows:
Inputs (for octopus and the parametric model)
Geom. creation (parametric model)
Karamba analysis
Outputs (one is non-karamba, the other two are karamba based)
After an arbitrary number of phenotypes generated (usually around 200), Rhino quits constantly.
I have double checked the following:
Octopus can run with just the inputs (a fake output is created to allow for octopus to run). It does not crash here.
Octopus can run with the inputs and the non-karamba outputs. It does not crash here
Octopus cannot run with the inputs and the karamba outputs. It crashes here
Octopus cannot run with the inputs and all outputs. It crashes here
I have also checked the following:
Geometry generation is built ruggedly (by setting parameter limits appropriately & testing extreme scenarios)
Octopus never receives any value to make it quit (see if statement at the end of karamba parameters)
Any help is appreciated, as I'm currently on a deadline for my thesis on this!

e actual method.
Below, I descibe how they work:
1) drag "scheduleDay" onto the canvas
2) drag some Gene Pool lists onto the canvas and connect a number slider - from 0 to 3.
3) connect the Gene Pool list to _genePool input. The component change some important features of the Gene Pool list automatically. Now you have LB_GenePool!!
4) choose the template that it's suitable for you.
5) disconnect LB_GenePool and if templates are not good, you can change them manually
6) drag "Ladybug annual schedule" onto the canvas
7) Connect LB_GenePools to inputs for the days of the week, Epw file and if you want to "_holiday" (in this way you consider holidays). Now you have your simple schedule.
8) a small workflow to visualize it into Rhino..
9) Connect "Ladybug annual schedule" to "Honeybee_Create CSV Schedule" to make your csv Schedule
You could make a schedule more complex than the one in the example above.
You can do that with _analysisPeriod input.

ll the wires gone. Now you'll have to hook them up again. This is the sort of thing that gets annoying after the third time.
Problem #2. The solution in Grasshopper iterates over all objects and solves each one in turn. Of course a lot of objects depend on other objects, so it usually becomes a cascade of objects solving themselves for the benefit of other objects. It is therefore very difficult to predict the order in which objects are solved.
The root iteration is the same as the display order (back to front), but the topology of the network complicates matters greatly. If you change the topology of the network during a solution, you might end up with whole portions of the network not being solved at all, or, worse, a conflict in the topology checker that makes Grasshopper think a network is self-referencing.
Problem #3. Grasshopper caches all manner of things about a network that can be recomputed from basic principles, but take a long** time to do so. If you start to expire caches where I don't expect you to, we'll either run into null reference errors, or stale cache data, or invalid cache data. Problems like these are very difficult to track down.
Problem #4. File IO. Components get deserialized from ghx files based on their default layout. In your case, we need to solve a component before we know how many outputs it needs. This cannot be done until the file has been completely deserialized. It's a chicken and egg problem, which will result in missing wires every time you open a file.
If you want to have a flexible number of outputs on your component, I'd suggest you add a menu item to your component that will change the output list when clicked, then causes a recompute. This way you won't mess with the network topology during solutions and people don't get their connections pulled out from under them. You'll need to do quite a few things to make this work, but I'll be happy to help you out there:
- Adding menu items and menu click handlers
- Properly removing parameters from a component
- Properly adding parameters to a component
- Recording undo for parameter changes
- Writing custom settings to a ghx archive
- Reading custom settings from a ghx archive and making sure your component is compatible with the ghx layout before it tries to deserialize itself.

1. See this: Imagine a curve (say a "rail") that is divided N times and then circles are created with random radii. Circle control points (9, that is) are sampled (obviously) into a DataTree where branches are the rail divisions. Let's call the control points: "start" seed points.
2. Imagine a capability ... that stores all these (the original "seed" control points) into a "parameter" and then each time that a change occurs to them (varying the x/y, on a per point on a per branch on a per plane basis[that provides the Z]) stores the "modified point" into the parameter (at the same index with the old: meaning "deleting" the old) ... and then some other code gets that data and makes curves and lofts them. Reset means: sample again the original "seed" points into that "parameter". Closing are reopening the definition has no effect: the lofted stuff is derived from the (internalized, so to speak) modified points (from the "parameter").
3. A variety of "automation" is available: for instance if you jump from branch to branch and from item to item the value of the selected point is inquired and the sliders that control the new x/y are "set" to 0,0 (meaning no change - yet) values. There's mo "store" mode: it works automatically as far as you modify points or you hit the reset button
4. This does that (only achievable with code):
5. Obviously points can been replaced with anything ... and thus ... we can individually modify items in collections ... and forget for ever attractor points and all that (OK where appropriate, he he).
I'll post 30 similar examples soon in the forthcoming mother of all threads: "GH goes (at last) interactive". Watch this space.
BTW: study the "animation" where points with index 6 are "sequentially" modified. I've added some delay in order to give you time to get the gist of the whole thingy.
