I am using your plug-in for normal forces evaluation in the transvere wires and spreaders of a sailboat. Mast is solved in another way, so I am not taking forces from Karamba in that case.
Basing on the forces value an adequate wire size (diameter) is choosen. Then masses of wires are being calculated. Loads (forces) on longitudinal wires are calculated without Karamba. The problem is when choosing transverse wires’ mass minimization as a criteria, the Octopus doesn’t get any results - is changing the sliders (genes) too fast for Karamba to calculate the forces (so Octopus gets only nulls):
When minimization of a e.g. longitudinal wires’ mass (calculated without Karamba) is taken as a criteria Octopus works fine.
Which suggests that the problem is in interaction of two plug-ins.
Any ideas how to avoid that problem?

The city of Patras which is the starting node of AA Greece VS, was chosen by the European Commission to be the European Capital of Culture for the year 2006. The concept of the event revolved around the main theme of "Bridges" and "Dialogues", drawing benefit from the city's rich history and its position as a "Gate to the West", to underline the essence of the productive interaction of culture and civilizations in Europe. The AA Greece Visiting School investigates how well existing buildings with various sightlines and variant spatial grammars perform according to human perception. In sync with the flexible and adaptive concept of parasitical structures, the research focuses on the making of transformable large-scale creations that accentuate prominent architectural features of existing buildings. The research looks at how cultural factors, specific preferences, experiences, and expectations can lead to the transformation of architectural parasitical structures.

't have time to take on this project but hacked a few bits together that might get you started; enough to see that you're in a world of pain here when it comes to data trees!
To start with, it looks like the code that generates the second set of curves (tangents) is identical to the first except for one extra component? So I disabled the duplicate code and rewired it like this:
Then I noticed that the second point in your desired curve (red arrow below) has not been determined in the GH, either by intersection points or other means. So for now, I skipped that point:
The code on the right (below) is what I added to organize the points to make your curves. Notice the use of 'Merge' before 'MCX'; the results depend on which set of curves is 'A' vs. 'B'.
The result is not too bad (minus that one point in each curve) but there are anomalies in the data that create problems and I don't have time to figure it all out. Sorry.
One of the problems is visible in the panel below, showing the output from 'Weave'. There are 26 curves (0 to 25) and this data is pretty good up through path "{0;0;25;0}". You could either figure out why there is more data than you want, or just ignore (somehow) the rest of the 50 paths/branches in this data tree.
Another problem is that the four points in each branch/path (five when you add the missing point) are in proper sequence for all branches except {0;0;0;0}. Again, you could figure out why or just sort the points by their distance from the center point, as I did.
Sorting is probably better as it would make it easy to merge that second point... OK, I'll add and merge that missing point, and trim the tree. Oops, I did it again. OCD is a terrible thing!
There is still a problem though - curves/pipes 0 through 4 are messed up. See yellow arrows. Well, 21 out of 26 isn't bad, eh?
I REALLY need to step away from this keyboard! I left my 'Tree/List Viewer' tool in the code as it might be useful (it is to me). Good luck.…

ssimilating components from a large definition into a single custom scripted component (eventually to be made into a GHA).
As of now I have 6 identical components in a chain (one after the other) which have several inputs and outputs. Some inputs are from the same user-defined sources and some are outputs from the previous component in the chain. My goal was to combine them all into a single scripted component - which I've done - but the amount of time it takes to process the solution is huge (compared to having them all chained in a row).
When chained, each component only take 50 or 60 ms to compute (300-360 ms total). When all crammed into one component, it can take several seconds (this also depends on the amount of inputs, though).
My theory is that I've just done something less efficient / more stupid than the best scripting practices would call for (since it's a relatively new realm for me) - So this is what I ask: Is there a better way to script what I have scripted? I don't want to complicate things by posting my few hundred lines of code, so I'll simplify:
To combine these previously disparate scripted components, I:
Create a class with various properties: (I am using a class because I have several data types -planes, points, numbers- that I want to output as the result of a function)
Class exampleClass
public aProp
public bProp
public cProp
etc...
create a function with 6 inputs (which is basically exactly the same as a single scripted component):
exampleFunction(a,b,c,d,e,f)
inside the function solve for 6 variables based on inputs
aVar = some math
bVar = some more math
cVar = even more math
etc...
At the end of the function create an instance of exampleClass (and set properties equal to variables solved for in the function)
classInstance = exampleClass
classInstance.aProp = aVar
classInstance.bProp = bVar
classInstance.bProp = bVar
etc...
Finally set the return value of the function equal to the instance of the class
exampleFunction = classInstance
So that's the setup. Now I want to run the function 6 times so I do something like:
dim funtion01 = exampleFunction(a0,b0,c0,d0,e0,f0)
dim funtion02 = exampleFunction(a1,b1,c1,d1,e1,f1)
dim funtion03 = exampleFunction(a2,b2,c2,d2,e2,f2)

So that's it. Now I can access any of the results from any of the 6 functions.
This works exactly the way I'd like it to, but it takes many times longer to calculate than when this whole script is broken up into separate components (360 ms total vs. 3.4 seconds in one script).
Any ideas why this may be? Should I do something different to achieve the same desired result?

At long last, only to find out it won't work right, as in no setting of flexibility will affect it at all?!
Tolerance has a sudden crazy effect if I turn it way up, like a piece of paper bending up opposite corners and it no long is trimmed, but flexibility is dead. I used your same values and same curves for everything. Yes, all the curves are participating, if I bake them and move them around.
My Patch is broken. Weird. Is there magic with the starting surface? I made a naive assumption just a plane would do. Yet you seem to be using your simple CreatePatch results for this?
Ah, the second CreatePatch command type that takes only a surface gives the same thing, nearly. You need a starting surface at all?! They said you could now leave that out as of Rhino SR10 by using Null, but Null or Nothing gives an error. How do I make a null? In Python it's None, as in just entering None into the Rhinocommon command or assigning a variable to None.
Now I have a patch!
But your's is more expressive, more crazy, like your starting surface is greatly influencing it to have extremely extended feet, whereas mine works like a normal patch, as if you were trying to smooth over things. And indeed your surface pull slider makes it more obvious you chose a specific starting surface attached to one of the curves. My starting planes had no such effect, earlier.
With such a starting surface to bias the results I get the same thing finally, indeed, good to know what that does, I never knew from using the command in Rhino.
Why did my use of a plane shut this down so badly though?! Crazy command.

looked at autodesk simulation cfd 2015 and was optimistic because it had an export plugin from revit, which i use anyway for material takeoffs and etc, but found that it did not take solar radiation into account. This was a downer because I have heard that solar radiation could effect indoor airflow - convection - as much as 50 percent at a time.
Then I searched again and found that Hyperworks, a software by altair technology can be coupled with a radiation software. So I went through the trouble of obtaining an educational license of Hyperworks. However, though some email exchange I have found that the coupling is a one-way. The radiation analysis software was used, I think, for understanding the solar loading for a SOM project called church of light.
The support guy said : "Unfortunately our coupling with Hyperworks is really a one way coupling. We can accept H coefficients from their software in RadTherm, but they will not read in our wall temps. That said, it still can be a useful coupling in the sense that you can run the analysis in Hyperworks, send H coefficients to RadTherm, and run the analysis to better understand radiation and conduction. Most importantly, that analysis can be done for longer transient analysis, but will require much less compute time and resources."
Not only did I not understand what he means by the H coefficients, my wanting to get a CFD understanding coupled with solar radiation was again, unsatisfied. In the mean while I had to finish a presentation so I haven't had the time to try to get some result on the natural ventilation. I would probably need to look into how their solutions work before I can understand if their software would "do the job"

You pointed out that "The component (and the corresponding equation) is mostly meant for cases where you have zones with windows that are NOT connected by an air wall (or a larger airflow network)." I wondered if you are suggesting it would be a code violation for zones to be connected by an air wall for fire safety reasons. It would be a violation I guess, like not putting an fiber insulation or some kind of smoke stop between Spandrel panels and the edge of a floor plate would be a code violation for a typical office building.
There is a project by kevin daly architects where you can see a section drawing with what seems like a cfd analysis (could be an illustration)
it was my initial visualization/simulation goals were for a facade design I am working on
1) an average air velocity across a zone at noon, for example, if a passive design strategy like this was used. for this I am guessing cfd is not entirely necessary. probably means that it could be used earlier in a design process, too. This would be more about user comfort.
2) at a later phase, like in detailing facade components, if airflow is indeed as expected for a zone that is connected to an air wall / chimney like feature (and to see if there is a proper mixing of air)
3) and a projection of energy savings, of course.
After seeing a video of simulation cfd I was optimistic, but like I said sim cfd does not take account of solar loading. I think I would probably go ahead start with one zone with sim cfd first, try three zones stacked on top of each other, then try hyperworks and try to factor in solar radiation.
For analyzing multiple zones on different levels, being able to add a chimney would be especially useful, I think. Having said that, I don't have a lot of experience of using honeybee except for the daylight component so it would take some time for me to understand the components.
I hope some of the information here is useful for you. after all, both sim cfd and hyperworks are commercial softwares and somewhat different than the e plus project you are working on, I guess but still trying to address a similar problem.
