2. NEVER EVER make a thing (i.e. the profile) to be oriented "off center" (in the occasion domain start/end values for x/y). If you want to do that treat the destination plane accordingly. That way you build up a mentality were the "source" is standard - so to speak.

We want to develop open source architecture, and be able to reuse easily open source elements of projects shared by the community.
We are interested to display the 3D files in the browser, thanks to connection with external services like http://beta.speckle.xyz or others though at the moment it is not yet available.
When I discovered the grasshoper forum, I liked the fact that people talk very openly about their modelling problems and share definition files...
But I think Bricks could be a complementary publication mode, to find in a glance an element with all its geometry and a link back to the forum post to join the discussion.
Indeed when I work as an architect, I have not always the time to browse a forum with all its discussions to find a suitable element for my project.
I've quickly reposted 2-3 forums posts to test it out.
I would love to have your feedbacks on this new way of publishing grasshoper definition files and more globally 3d reusable geometries.
Here you can see a single definition or the list of definitions that can be classified at the left thanks to custom categories.
If you create an account and upload a few definitions and 3d images and files, you could also tell us, what you think of this process.

3. We've added a specular option in the rendering settings. So now you can have your design rendered a little bit shinny-er.
4. There is also a "filters" option in this panel, with which you can get some interesting image post processing effects. We are expanding this filter library, if you have any suggestions, please let us know.
5. This one is very important and has been requested by our customers for a long time. Now when you upload a model, you can grab the reviews(3d comments, screenshots,sketches) from your previously uploaded model! This works really conveniently if you use Modelo for your design review/presentation, cause you don't have to recreate the same 3d anchor views every time you made some changes to your design.
6. Also, our developer API is almost ready, which means if anyone is interested in developing a grasshopper plugin that works with Modelo, they can!

nition, not a GH bug, but this gave me a little idea: as I saw in the last version of GH, the clusters are back. There is no link with the memory, but this is the idea: I know that GH is not a multi-threaded app, but could it be possible to assign the execution of these different clusters to, let's say one processor-core each? (in a distributed-rendering like interface: cluster A rendered by core 1, B by core 2, etc.) And as GHowl allows to send datas through networks, it could also be possible to link multi-sessions of GH on different PCs as well, no? ...…
on) ... the only way to do something meaningful/realistic is to follow Bentley System's way: they had 3 rendering engines (all highly problematic and archaic), a bunch of highly paid "gurus" to "develop" the dead fish and an export to Maxwell capability as well (Maxwell is very slow and has no chance VS Nexus, see below). PS: "Gurus" had no idea about Quest3D and the likes.
At the time, I was near to some permanent ban (he he) from all Bentley Forums due to my acid writings about how stupid these methods were. In fact I openly proposed to Bentley (to Ray Bentley to be exact) to fire all "gurus" involved ... and follow the outsource path.
Finally Ray (he's very smart) did the right thing: after an agreement with Luxology ... now Microstation (the core product) uses the Nexus engine (as found in Modo). This means that the Nexus is fully integrated across the whole vertical suite of BIM AEC Bentley apps the likes of AECOSim (that includes Generative Components as well).
And as everyone knows THIS is the real McCoy (US movie industry is behind that thing).
Additionally Modo has the best GUI known to mankind (US movie ... blah blah) and astonishingly innovative thinking (US movie ... blah blah).

quite know where I'm going wrong. I can say that I have successfully put together a separate file which will send data directly to the Arduino (switch on a boolean toggle and watch an LED light up... how fun:) but receiving the data is a bit more complicated. For a long time, I was getting a continuous loop error, which would freeze my app. I've changed around the code (see attached file), but I'm still not receiving any data from my COM port (which I know is definitely working because I can turn on the Serial Monitor from the Arduino IDE and see the data coming in). I did have one question: Can you call different routines inside the script class (from Grasshopper), or do you have to always call the run script subroutine? If you guys have any suggestions I would greatly appreciate it. I understand it's a bit tricky to trouble shoot this issue since you may or may not have an Arduino handy to stream the data to your computer... but let me know if you see any glaring issues with the code.
