ive methods for synthesising drawing and 3D printing. Working with Objet Geometries high resolution, multimaterial liquid 3D printing technology, participants will be involved inan intensive ten-day programme of making and testing 2D, ‘thick 2D’ and 3D digital printing techniques to invent architectural surfaces.
The workshop programme is inspired by British pioneers of art and architectural representation –Joseph Gandy, Robert Adam, James Stirling, David Hockney and John Outram – and informed by Israel’s unique cultural heritage
of textiles and ceramics. The workshop is the testing ground for AA Intermediate Unit 9’s ongoing experiments to blur the boundary between drawing and 3D printing. The objet trouvé, exquisite corpse and other Surrealist and Dadaist techniques form the basis for these investigations.
The workshop’s objective is to deliver an atlas of prints (working with measured drawings from non-architectural disciplines) from each participant (a ‘3D takeaway’) that they will incorporate into future projects and
publications, giving the workshop a wide-ranging material and intellectual influence.
Participants will work in at least two of four different AA-led design units over the ten days. The teaching staff also includes
Eran Neuman and Aaron Sprecher of Open Source Architecture, as well as Marco Ginex and Adam Nathaniel Furman of Madam Studio, and Arthur Mamou-Mani from the AA
In addition to advanced software tuition, there will be regular evening lectures (invited speakers include Benjamin Samuel Koren and Erez Ella) and workshops including a hands-on working session with Objet Geometries.…
Angeles, which has 12% of the year made comfortable, and Shiraz, Iran, which also has 12% comfortable (assuming default parameters).
Jerusalem also makes sense to me. There is only a maximum possible 9% of the year that is inside the polygon (you'll see this if you set the timeConstant to a very high number). The default strategyPar makes 6% of these hours comfortable and 3% without cool enough temperatures in the previous hours. This seems reasonable to me.
I could be convinced to change the default time constant to 12 hours (instead of 8) as I know that 12 is the default of climate consultant but that seemed really idealized in my opinion. You'll need really high exposed mass and insulation without much internal heat gain to make conditions stable for more than 8 hours in my opinion.
As for the solarHeatCapacity, I get changes when I drop it down to 10 W/m2 or boost it up to 100 W/m2. It's definitely a parameter that operates on an "order of magnitude" scale and little tweaks to it won't change it too much. You can think of this number as representative of a lot of other physical properties: most notably the depth of the space being passively heated and the thermal mass of that space's materials that participate in heat exchange over the time constant. Climate consultant uses a default assumption of 30 W/m2 but, from my calculations, this is likely assuming a space that has a facade to floor area ratio that is greater than 1. If we say that we need to raise the temperature of 10 cm of an exposed concrete floor for passive heating purposes, and we have a facade-to-floor area ratio of 1:
Required solar flux = ((1 facade-to-floor ratio) x (0.1 m3 of concrete) x (2400 kg/m3 concrete density) x (880 J/kg-K concrete specific heat capacity)) / 3600 seconds/hour
This lands you with a required solar flux of 58 W, which is almost twice the 30 W climate consultant default. While me might say that not all 10 cm of concrete participates over the course of a default 8-hour time constant (most of the action is probably within the first 5 cm), we also have to account for things like transmittance of solar though the window, which, for triple pane, is probably only half of the incident solar. So 50 W seemed to be a more reasonable rule of thumb from my perspective, essentially assuming a facade-to-floor ratio of roughly 1 with 5 cm of concrete participating in an 8 hour heat exchange and a little more than half of solar heat getting through a fully glazed window.
Let me know if that makes sense or if you have any suggestions,

flat) and then subdivide your surface using the divide domain component and feed that into a surface box. Your base geometry, base geometry bounding box and surface boxes will all drive the box morph.
From the looks of your geometry, it appears that it is designed to nest in a particular way that isn't strictly rectilinear, but is more staggered, so that the top corner of one element fits into the bottom corner of an adjacent element. You can achieve this using the box morph, but you have to get pretty creative with how you subdivide your surface:
I'm attaching a couple of files...first of all is your definition with the changes in it to make the above. But also I used some components that I made recently (will release them in a package with a bunch more hopefully soon) called tree sloth, which helps manage data trees and lists. I used a couple of those components, so I'm also attaching the gha for those. Just copy that file into your components folder (under file-> special folders) and restart rhino/gh. The new components are just layered into different parts of the "Sets" components.
To explain what I did: you basically you want to have adjacent sub-surfaces along your guide surface to overlap at the top and bottom thirds. There are any number of ways to extract these surfaces...I just pulled out strips in each column and culled every fourth element, but shifted by one in alternating columns. So in the first column I take strips 1,2 and 3 and skip 4, take 5, 6 and 7, etc. and in the second column I start at number 3, 4, 5 and skip 6, then take 7, 8, 9, etc. Then I collect each of these batches of three strips and take the bottom left corner and upper right corner UV domains to create the target surfaces for the morph.
Hope this helps you out...…

Thanks Abraham.I really appreciate it.
Another thing ' I posted a discussion few days ago and got no replies. And this forum is the only 'Hope' for me..Can you quickly check it?thanks.

same simulation with two different settings, with _numOfCUPs_ set to 1 and again with it set to 10. I'm running it on a 6 core/12 thread CPU so I should have no problem handling 10 threads.
I've attached an Excel file with my results for how long it took with a single thread vs. how long each of threads took on the 10 thread run. What it amounts to is that with a single thread it took 51 minutes, and with the 10 thread option it took 47 minutes for it all to finish. With the latter the first 9 threads finished between 28-34 minutes which is a significant time savings over the single thread run, but the last thread still took almost as long and gave us only about an 8% time savings.
This is only one simple comparison and only one simulation type, but I've seen this same result happen over and over again over the past year or so with several simulations (annual, irradiance, illuminance,...). I also don't think it's necessarily a Honeybee problem, because even running the simulations myself by creating the octree mesh and running radiance and daysim from the command line I had the same issue where splitting a model up and running parallel simulations that were then recombined took just about as long as running it all in one thread. Add into this the time necessary to combine the different files at the end and your multithreading time savings become even less.
So is it me, my machine, radiance, bad karma?…
