sth wrong and the operation doesn't work. I want to obtain the effect of
bending paper card, for example A4, and I want to have a full control of bending by moving the corner points. Can anyone look at my
GH definition and help me to find and fix the problem??
Thank You in advance!

eometry I need, arranged into 4 tree structures. I'm very happy: now I just need to change one string and all the info falls out. That script replaces something like 24 different grasshopper components and a mess of wiring, so the definition looks nicer, too :-)
Here's a file with 2 of the "learning" scripts I wrote along the way, in the hope it will help someone. One of them takes a layer name and extracts all the curve objects from that layer, the other one is an exercise in building up multi-level tree structures for output.
Thanks, as always, for the help. And I welcome any comments, I LOVE code reviews! I'm an experienced C and C++ programmer but don't know my way around RhinoCommon and don't know anything about the specifics of C#.

ey provide all the means to what I try to achieve.
What I need is to get a fast (as possible) evaluation of passive heat/solar gain from a certain facade. I know my building can cool to a certain degree (lets say 80 W/m2 - now lets forget other internal gains) and I want to be sure my facade is not letting excessive amounts of heat into the room/building. Normally I would make a full blown simulation to count my overheating hours and thereby evaluate my facade. To speed up the process, the idea is just to evaluate overheating hours in a faster way. So what I am thinking is that excessive amounts may estimated by counting high intensity irradiation patches in a critical sky-component or whatever such thing would be called that surpasses my sensible cooling load. My hope is that any facade visible to the sky-patches would very similar to the number of overheating hours if properly calibrated to a simulated model. However I have no idea right now, if this can be done.
Why do this? Speed, convenience, whole building thermal analyses.
@Chris and @Abraham The critical sky-component is made with LBs radiance component radiation and filtering the beam-components with highest effects from a yearly epw-file.
@Chris Conductive heat gains are also important especially if the facade is badly insulated, so the next step is to filter the outdoor temperature parallel with that critical sky-component and then do a static heat transfer analysis and combine that with the effect from direct sun influence. Again, no idea if it works.
Hope it makes sense. I a little embarrassed I drew you into this little experiment. This was not at all the point of the discussion. But now we are into it I like to know what you think. If it works its kinda neat, at least i think it is.

pts organize in a data tree without losing the data structure. To create a folding surface as per image attach.
1. Replace items (to create a gradient) / Like the weight culling example.
Path {0} replace all indexes with a new value (a)
Path {1} replace 90% indexes with a new value (a)
Path {2} replace 80% indexes ...
2. Decrease value (a) in relation to path number
3. After Replace the above items value with
for even path number {0,2,...} replace items with a negative number
Did not find a easy way to create data tree that would achieve the above inside GH.
Point 2 & 3 are easy but i could not found a simple solution for points 1.
At the moment the only way i found is to create the list in Excell manually and import/ export or to create a list on indices for each path.
Any hint appreciated.
Might need to wait for the number slider or path mapper to accept input or notation ?

ells on nurbs surfaces. It references GH_IO.dll, Grasshopper.dll and Rhinocommon.dll.
Custom Class : GS_Mesh
Custom Type : GHType_GSMesh : GH_Goo<GSMesh>
Custom Parameter : GHParam_GSMesh : GH_Param<GHType_GSMesh>
Now, i'm developing a set of structural analysis components to relax gridshells. Those components are grouped in a new project called "Marsupilami".
Naturally my components would eat GS_Mesh objects and relax them. My project references GH_IO.dll, Grasshopper.dll, Rhinocommon.dll and Gridshell.dll.
But I can't build my code because I get the following error, where I try to instantiate a GHType_GSMesh object :
Errorr 3 The type 'Grasshopper.Kernel.Types.GH_Goo`1<T0>' is defined in an assembly that is not referenced. You must add a reference to assembly 'Grasshopper, Version=1.0.0.20, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null'. C:\Documents and Settings\l.dupeloux.TESS\Mes documents\Dropbox\Dev\Marsupilami\1 - visual studio\Marsupilami\GHComponents\GHComponent_GSMeshRelax.cs 97 13 Marsupilami
I've checked many times but the assembly seems to be referenced in both projects (local copy = false) in the required version (1.0.0.20).
Do you have any idea how to solve this problem ?
Many Thanks
Lionel

), my script is triangulating slabs by drawing line in a crossreference way. This part was "easy"
What I want to do now is to link those slabs together
ie : if a slab is a surface AxBxCxDx
I want to link A1 to A2, B1 to B2, C1 to C2 etc.
I know it's a simple question of restructuring the tree in my Pshift component, so that I can use the line component with shortest list, and link each of those points.
Any ideas on how to fix that?
Thank you

ius, like the image below. I have a string with all of the 8 radii in a group of data. I was using the Divide Surface command, but there are two problems. First, the resulting points have a tree structure shown in the screenshot below, with {8; 2; 3}. How do I assign radius so that the six holes on the same panel has the same radius? The second problem is, the divide surface command generates points along the edges, too, where I don’t need any holes. How can I get rid of them?

thing that MicroStation does (or doesn't). The eternal debate between us is that they focus to the so called BIM aspect of things (and obviously on interoperability matters - that said IFC2*4 is" implemented" in certain Bentley verticals like BA and others) whilst I'm after assembly/component puzzles (and on that matter ... MS ...hmm... to put it politely is not exactly CATIA and/or NX, he he).
On the other hand this paranoid obsession with Level/Layer driven CAD (I hate it) defines a red thick line between CAD and MCAD - because the most intelligent importer can't emulate the way that Siemens NX/CATIA classifies objects - and without control power means nothing.
On the other hand Microstation V9 (...soon) has interesting scripting capabilities (think Modo rather Generative Components) ... meaning that Grasshopper could work there in a rather nice way. I think that I must talk for that to Ray (he recently ditched the ancient legacy MS render engine in favor for the Luxology/Nexus engine). Ray still is negative to buy Act3D mind (hope that you know the mother of visual scripting - the Quest3D VR thing).
On the other hand - within the broad AEC aspect - things these days are different (especially in fast developing countries the likes of UAE, Saudi Arabia, certain ex USSR "democracies" etc etc). Studies are outsourced even at Preliminary Design stage to various sub-contractors (they undertake the Study completion per discipline as well). This means that N separate groups doing M aspects of the whole ... meaning entropy^(N*M) - that's chaos in plain English.
With this in mind I'm quite (a lot) skeptical about the practical meaning of the whole exchange thing in AEC - at least with regard the countries mentioned (not to mention that several portions of a modern AEC thing are made via MCAD apps - chaos^chaos.
I'll back with more focused issues on that matter.
But the big question is: Grasshopper of Generative Components? Well...let's talk serious SS bikes instead: think a Ducati 1198 and a BMW S1000RR (I have them both): which is "best"? The thing is that not always the best bunny is the fasted bunny and not always the fasted bunny is the best bunny.
Cheers,
Peter
