nts but as there are polylines and surfaces in it, they are conflicting as the geometries are overlapping and intersecting.
The input for the model is a centre point and four connecting points: we can call them CNT, A, B, C and D. The model works for these points - it's quite complicated with lots of polylines, vector geometry, surfaces, rotations, etc. - but it still works and has an output of two breps.
If I had a compilation of N sets of CNT, A, B, C and D's, is there a way of feeding each of these into the grasshopper in individual sets rather than just plugging in the huge set of numbers - e.g. feeding in CNT1, A1, B1, C1 and D1 and getting a result before moving on to CNT2, A2, B2, C2 and D2?
I've tried looking through tree structures, but it seems to be failing when the size of the set isn't known - e.g. how to extract all the information from trees when N isn't know using list item (i=0, i=1, i=2..., i=N).
I hope I've managed to explain the problem adequately, I can make up an easier to understand Grasshopper model later if I haven't explained well...
Thanks in advance for any comments, pointers, etc.…
The PC actually stops working because after a few seconds the simulation starts the fan inside the PC all of a sudden stops and for the next 5-10 mins I cannot do anything, even alt+ctrl+canc. After I wait for that time i get the followig error:

The thing is that if I raise the -aa parameter from 0.05 to 0.1 all works fine..
Is this only related to my PC then?? What should I do to solve this issue?
Thanks again for your help

pts organize in a data tree without losing the data structure. To create a folding surface as per image attach.
1. Replace items (to create a gradient) / Like the weight culling example.
Path {0} replace all indexes with a new value (a)
Path {1} replace 90% indexes with a new value (a)
Path {2} replace 80% indexes ...
2. Decrease value (a) in relation to path number
3. After Replace the above items value with
for even path number {0,2,...} replace items with a negative number
Did not find a easy way to create data tree that would achieve the above inside GH.
Point 2 & 3 are easy but i could not found a simple solution for points 1.
At the moment the only way i found is to create the list in Excell manually and import/ export or to create a list on indices for each path.
Any hint appreciated.
Might need to wait for the number slider or path mapper to accept input or notation ?

ort and export from the images below and also from the HELP file of DB in attachments (Page 71: Importing Geometric Data; Page 78-80: Import 3 - D CAD Data). In their HELP file, they mention about "import geometric data".
However, regarding the input of schedules, loads, constructions and etc., DB normally uses "Component " and "Template" (Page 29: Templates And Components; Page 591: Templates; Page 533: Components). "Templates" are databases of typical generic data, including Activity templates, Construction templates, Glazing templates, Facade templates, HVAC templates, Location Templates, and etc. "Component " are databases of individual data items (e.g. a construction type, material, window pane).
Both "Component " and "Template" are allowed to be imported and exported by using "Import / Export library data" command (.ddf format - DB Database File; Page 734: Import Components/Templates, Export Components/Templates). DB also allows us to build up our own libraries of templates and components (Page 731: Library Management; Page 733: Template Library Management).
In order to import both geometric information and other information related to schedules, loads, constructions and etc. from GH to BD, we supposed the following two ways:
1. GH(HB+GB) --> gbXML (both geometric and "Component " and "Template" information) --> DB
This is the way we most prefer. We did see information related to schedules, loads, constructions encoded in the gbXML file generated by GB, but still do not know the reason why DB did not take this information (I also mentioned this in Q6 within the gh file). We assume this might because the gbXML file we create encodes the schedules based on a different template / schema than the one DB expects. We also post this question to the DB forum for help.

2. GH(HB+GB) --> gbXML (geometric information only) + .ddf ("Component " and "Template" information only) --> DB
If the first way doesn't work and DB only takes geometric information from the gbXML, then we might think of the other way - generating the .ddf files from GH(HB+GB) to pass the schedule, load and construction information to DB.
I was wondering if it is feasible for HB and GB to have this function? And what is your suggestion to achieve this?
In addition, we notice that DB can export XML files (not gbXML), so we are trying to figure out if DB also accepts / reads the XML file. If so, we might be able to convert the gbXML (with both geometric and schedule information) to XML. What do you think about that?
Thank you again for all your help!

" (idiomatic) and easy way of doing things.So here come some basic questions:
Is there a way to create custom components by grouping an existing sub-network together? I'm looking for a way to re-use parts of a program (something similar to subroutines), and to make the network look less cluttered. I found that it is possible to group components (ctrl-g), but this still displays them as separate blocks (too much clutter), and provides no way to re-use a sub-network in such a way that if it is modified in one place, all it's instances (all the places where it is re-used) also get modified.
Is there a component that does nothing, just passes a signal through? Suppose I need to connect block A to blocks B1, B2, B3 (all three get the same input). Then I change my mind, and I decide to connect block C to these three, not A. In this case it will be necessary to change three connections, not just one. I'm looking for an easy way to do this by a single rewiring, not three. (This came up in a practical situation).
Finally, a related question: is there a component that acts as a switch, so I can choose which signal it passes through out of a possible set of choices? For example, suppose that a set of objects can be coloured based on a number of different properties (size, positions, rotation, etc.) I'm looking for a way to switch between these very easily, without the need to do much rewiring.
Thank you in advance for any replies / useful comments, even general ones on how to easily structure a large Grasshopper program/network.…
st between those two applications. But as soon as every frame is re-calculated I noticed that intersection function is very slow. It is actually so slow, that maximum number of polygons to play with is only 10 or less.
Could you help me to find a faster solution for my script?
calculation of intersection lines;
//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
import ghpythonlib.components as ghcompimport rhinoscriptsyntax as rsdef ctr(crv): pts = ghcomp.Explode(crv)[1] pts = ghcomp.CullDuplicates(pts,0.001)[0] return ghcomp.Average(pts)pts = []lines = []ctr_c1 = ctr(C1)for crv in C2: if ctr(crv) != ctr_c1: int = ghcomp.CurveXCurve(C1, crv)[0] if int: [pts.append(x) for x in int] lines.append(rs.AddLine(int[0],int[1]))
/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
The overall description of the script:
a)Processing+ghowl is used for moving objects and physics
b)python script (slowest part) calculates intersection lines
c)intersected parts of polygons are rotated in 90 degrees.
I have attached grasshopper and processing files. (processing is not necessary to test the script)
Thank you in advance,
Pereas.

d the workshop PDF from this link: http://goo.gl/bcvRNH Download event poster from this link: http://goo.gl/Q0KWCM Brief: Cairo is filled with barriers controlling people movements, suppressing them as well as detaining green and public spaces to the extent that most people have been taking these spaces for granted. Public spaces have been for a while the periphery of our daily life. We will explore in this workshop how we can manipulate and alter people’s perception and direct their attention to how these spaces are integral for city life. This exploration will be backed up by intensive technical tutorials introducing computational design and fabrication techniques and tools mainly Rhino, Grasshopper, Geco and Ecotect. Not only will this be the typical technical workshop, but rather you will also have the chance to be guided step by step on how these tools are used through out different design stages in a real world scenario. Design prototypes will be produced through 3D printing, the main workshop output will be a fabricated one to one functional model for one of the designs using our new in-house CNC machine. Tutors (check the PDF for bio): Olga Kovrikova, MArch DIA Alexandr Kalachev, MArch DIA Karim Soliman, MArch DIA Islam Ibrahim, MArch DIA Sherif Tarabishy, B.Sc.
