nteraction in the design of an enclosed volume.
Revolutions have occurred through architectural history and vary widely in terms of design methods and fabrication techniques. Focusing on inspiring natural form‐finding techniques, AA Athens VS works towards producing a large‐scale interactive prototype that alters in real‐time the perception of interior space.
Technology and architecture are coupled for the third year in Athens with a novel agenda of transforming an enclosed area and creating internal contrasting city‐life characteristics that transcend the local conditions. In collaboration with the National Technical University of Athens, Cipher City: Revolutions explores participatory design and active engagement modeling and continues building novel prototypes upon horizontal planes.
The toolset includes mainly ‐among others‐ Rhino Grasshopper, Processing and Arduino platforms. With the completion of the Programme participants receive the AA Visiting School Certificate. In 2013, the design agenda of AA Athens will connect with the agenda of AA Greece VS in the city of Patras. Participation in both Programmes will allow for a more extensive learning experience through additional tools like Autodesk Maya, Autodesk 3D Studio Max and more.

er" logic but it miss when comes the copy or offset.
Here is my following logic
Take the square of 25 m x 12 m ; make it a surface
I divide it in "blades" of 20 cm
I take the edges of the "blades",
I divide this edges in 40 points (or equivalent) (A)
I identify my curves (curves) which are on the floors, which are curves (B)
First i do this "test" :
for each crossroad between A and B, i make a circle of X cm (slider) of diameter and the rule is the following :
* In this circle, the future movement of my A curve must be at Z = 0
Second step :
for each next point, i have to : leave a copy on Z = 0 and rise the second one for a heigh of Y cm (slider) from the ground.
the next (W = slider to chose every each number of point, i decide to do the following point) point, which is a little bit farer from the previous point, must duplicate the same height of Y ; and also be copied to Y + Y cm.
There is a Z number (slider) which is the max height possible for these points, which mean that the next point must be at this very same level except ... The third step scenario.
The purpose is to be able to have flat area, like step in a stairway.
Third step :
The grasshopper must test if the A points are between two or more "area at Z = 0". Why ?
The goal is to obtain something like screen "side view" if there are two starting points at Z = 0.
Which also mean that if there is an odd number of points, the remaining odd number must be at the top of the "stairs"
At this point of the grasshopper, we might be able to obtain, thanks to the sliders the "staircase form" regarding :
- The size of the test circle between A and B curves
- The "footstep" of each points (height)
- The number of points before a "copy of the point + the next footstep rise"
- The max heigh possible for all the point off B curves
And at this moment i have a new problem in my logic. You will get my idea, but it might be wrong as well...
Therefore, and after that, we should be able to link every point by a straight line.
To fillet with P (angle) a line with the following one
To join all the line of a same B curve
To cut it at the center of each circle at Z = 0 (the crossroad of A and B)
To offset it with Q (distance)
To rise a line from the center of each circle at Z = 0
To cut the extra part of each Offset"ed" curve to get an offset curve "aligned in Z" with the original one.
To create loft the original and offset"ed" one
To extrude the surface to a distance of R
And grasshopper "should be done" because, i will duplicate it for the ceiling, reverse the form with a -Z vector to the Y value and modifie my Z in Z' to modify my max height
Could you help me ?

rute force algorithm analysing all possible support constellations and their related w[max] values. Therefore I know the global optimum value of the fitness (smallest w[max]) and its related genome (location of the three point supports). Now the reason I've done this, is because I wanted to test whether one type of genome data structure would yield better results when fed to the Evolutionary Solver of Galapagos. The two genome data structures tested were the following types:
Sequential genome indexing for support positions, uses one slider per point support [supports @ node 2, 23 & 25]
Coordinate genome indexing for support positions, uses two sliders per point support [supports @ node (0;2), (3,5) & (4,1)]
My own hypothesis beforehand was that the coordinate indexing system would be the better performer, as I had imagined that the solver might build up some kind of geographic intelligence based on this genome information system.
Based on my tests with the Evolutionary Solver the two genome indexing types seem to perform equally well; they both manage to find the optimal fitness sooner or later with same hit rates. But now I worry that the used example might be too small to draw a final conclusion upon, and as I will be applying the same type of deflection analysis for more complicated deflection cases with both larger and arbitrarily shaped meshes having more than three point supports, I would like to ask:
Should the coordinate indexing system, theoretically speaking, perform better than the sequential indexing system? …
looking to achieve is to replace every 25 value in a list with 0, 40 with 1, 15 with 2 and 60 with 3. This is what I have so far:
listArray = x
searchList = y
writeList = z
for n, i in enumerate(listArray):
if i == searchList[0]:
listArray[n] = writeList[0]
elif i == searchList[1]:
listArray[n] = writeList[1]
elif i == searchList[2]:
listArray[n] = writeList[2]
elif i == searchList[3]:
listArray[n] = writeList[3]
a = listArray
Any help appreciated,
Cheers,

lite’ of education that promotes the Architectural Association’s exclusive, intensive form of teaching and learning around the country. AA Greece VS aims on visiting a different city each year and construct a single large-scale model which will act as an active nod of communication among the various locations.
In 2014, the School will initiate its design agenda with an architectural approach that is focused on the aspect of connection. The city of Patras which is the starting node of AA Greece VS, was chosen by the European Commission to be the European Capital of Culture for the year 2006. The concept of the event revolved around the main theme of "Bridges" and "Dialogues", drawing benefit from the city's rich history and its position as a "Gate to the West", to underline the essence of the productive interaction of culture and civilizations in Europe. The AA Greece Visiting School investigates how well existing buildings with various sightlines and variant spatial grammars perform according to human perception. In sync with the flexible and adaptive concept of parasitical structures, the research focuses on the making of transformable large-scale creations that accentuate prominent architectural features of existing buildings. The research looks at how cultural factors, specific preferences, experiences, and expectations can lead to the transformation of architectural parasitical structures.
