ture which is combined with some columns. The columns are arranged in a straight grid structure. I’m not able to get a smooth transition between structural curves as you can see in the image.
Problem 1: I was able to make the columns out of 4 curves, I need this to be 8.
Problem 2: I want to be able to manipulate the column posiotions by XYZ.
Problem 3: The curves (these two curves should be a dome like structure) from two columns aren’t conecting smoothly as you can see in the green ellipse in the image below.
After I created the column curves ( blue circle) in grasshopper (file: 'Surface+Columns' and 'columns2') I made solid columns out of it and tryed to join them smoothly with the surface to project a grid structure on it (in rhino).
Unfortunatly I went wrong and the problem is which you can see in the red ellipse:
The column pipes aren’t on the same level like the grid structure of the surface. Somethimes they are on, sometimes under the surface.
Could somebody help me please, That would be absolutly great!! :)
In the file 'Surface' you'll find the Surface with the current column possition.

El curso está dirigido a cada diseñador, ingeniero o arquitecto que quiere obtener una sólida base en modelado generativo y paramétrico dentro del flujo de trabajo en Rhinoceros.

decided to also port some of the example files.
The GH definitions work very similar to Kangaroo. The boolean toggle must be set to false and the timer component must be enabled to run the animation. To reset the animation disable the timer and switch the boolean toggle to true.
Most of the code is ported as it is, but in some cases I added more functionality, like making the algorithm work in 3D.

2. See this? It's a abstract (for the moment) layout of some WIP thing: Imagine a region where "evenly" random points are placed (and then a random zNoise is added) - then a ball-pivot/delauney triangulation is applied ... then ... :
2. I use my method to create "even" points (I suspect that David's is way better/faster/cooler ... but anyway): after a random point is found (inside the region) an additional check is performed: think of the point as a "candidate" that must "pass" a 2nd constrain: if the min distance from all the already found (random) points is smaller than a user defined one > reject and try again (the "try-again" thing [call it: min distance "loops"] is also user controllable). Thus that C# captured attempts to place 122 points but due to (a) the min distance constrain AND (b) the low (about 8 in this case) amount of "try-again" loops it finishes with "only" 59 (not a big deal for this case). The interesting part is that the attempts required are 1573 (~30 times the random points returned). Of course there's a lot of factors affecting this 1573 (variable) thing ... but don't stick to that.
3. So if David uses a "similar" culling method (add some " " more, he he) ... for 80K points ... well we are talking about a BIG number of attempts.
I can provide you with a "no-even" random points C# that (I assume/guess/hope) can speed things a bit (after all: who's gonna notice an "even" random distribution of 80K points within a micro cube?).

complicated than it seems as I have an event and a subscriber method receiving data from a serial port.
In the code below, the strings received within myReceivedLines appear when connecting with the serial port (when connecttodevice is true). However they disapear when I launch another command (when homeallis true).
As you recommended in your reply, I have added the field called myReceivedLineswithin the class so that I could use the method String.Add() to all the feedback received and commands sent.
Why does the feedback dispear when a command is sent? Is the string going to myReceivedLine disappearing because they happen within a subscriber method or is it related to the DA.SetDataList() method used to assign myReceivedLinesto the output?

I was trying to model sphere lattice constrained within a boundary box. When inflated, they would not intersect with each other; they would stay in place; and would be malleable just enough to expand and fill in the gaps in between the spheres.
I started off with the help of this thread here(Thanks for those contributed!). As I understood, there was a bug in Kangaroo2. Solver can't handle more than one item plugged in. So I tried to understand David's Stasiuk's Script and adopted it with a few variations, please see gh file attached.
In the first 5 - I've used David Stasiuk's C# component-variable pressure (posted on June 9, 2015 at 12:25am): 'No. 4.5' being the most successful simulation so far(inflation value is kept very low so that they would not intersect);
although I realised I made some math mistake in setting the close packing grid.(could be checked by plugging voronoi3D to see if the area of the rhombic faces are regular)
No. 6-7 I tried with Kangaroo2 components.
After consulting my tutor(Andrei Jipa)'s help, I realised the following changes could be made:
- The definition posted by David on June 8, 2015 at 4:47pm with constant pressure would've worked better.
- Icosahedrons with WbCatmull(Quad divisions) would result in more even load distribution. With wbloop, vertices more concentrated at poles.
- Load in dir Z could be omitted. Andrei has suggested to use lengths(line) in Kangaroo 2 as 'pressure' instead. And I am trying to improve the grid; and maybe try with David's constant pressure definition. I will keep you guys posted of the progress!

WIP Anemone loop that builds gradually variable membrane modules) as a generic guideline related with the hot spot N1: how to feed Kangaroo with a proper "minimum" mesh.
By "minimum" I mean a mesh that "approximates" what are you doing PRIOR the kangaroo engagement. I'll post in some days the real case (a very complex one I confess) in order to understand why this is urgently required.
Add ons used: Starling, Paneling tools, MinSurf (Cerver.org), LunchBox, Weaverbird, Anemone, Kangaroo
Notes::
1. Use Stored Views.
2. A variety of gates is used in order to exploit all available (I believe) ways in order to deal with a mesh. The fact that the reduce mesh is not exposed in SDK ... well you understand.
3. Kangaroo is deactivated. Prior activation (see equivalent Stored View) choose some mesh "method" that you rate best for feeding Kangaroo. Of course real-time design is out of the question (see FormFinder).
4. LunchBox can't operate with trimmed nurbs .... thus the "equal" tri/quad mesh dream is a wishful thinking.
5. MinSurf (dealing with nurbs instead of meshes) can't work in a 1:1 basis (we have one membrane "base" and 2 rings or more).
6.For comparison the Rhino file has 2 outputs (depending on the fabric stress conditions) from FormFinder. Notice the way that FF builds up the mesh (MUCH simpler and this is the reason that FF is real-time).
7. Anemone loop is not complete yet (not all data tress required for creating a series of membrane variations are linked). Anemone is temperamental as well (lot's of crashes).
8. Plan Z is WIP.
All in all : a far better way is urgently required in order to feed Kangaroo with some reasonably minimum mesh (like a mini Evolute Tools pro preparing the mesh)..
