will not be created in plugin folder of my Rhino 5 Beta as it does in Rhino 4 while it did in my last computer (pc,windows vista).
I copy/pasted the Grasshopper folder from Rhino 4 to Rhino 5 Plugin folder, but it seems like this folder is not functioning at all since when I drop any gh file for addons, like MeshEdit or Kangaroo or python, in the component folder, nothing new gets created in component ribbon.
Please let me know if you have any suggestion.
Thanks,
Naciem

The problem is that for some reason Custom Preview Materials component colors the surface geometry in gray.
Like this:
I tried using different images for the "DB" input, but I get the same result: gray colored surface. Can this be an issue with the graphic card maybe (I have ATI Radeon HD 3200).
I tried installing the newest drivers for the graphic card, but still not improvement.I can not check if this problem can be repeated with my old PC, as it is now in another country, but still for years I have't had problem on it with this component. And now on this laptop, I do.Any suggestion on what could be causing this would be a very appreciated!…

tant (if you don't change them manually).
First thing you should clarify is, what features of the sound you want to visualize/use. Like Level(Volume), Frequency content, whatever... The raw input data as it comes form the soundcard is giant blob of mostly noise. To smoothen it, usually means filtering out high frequency compnents. Typically this also results in slower samplerates.
GH isn't meant to be a real-time audio processor. It's single threaded, so GH uses only one of my availabe 8 cores. Most of GH's data management would be avoided in an audio environment. Moving data from one component to the next will take some time. This is why I suggested to do all the data manipulation within a single script component. Like Andy already said, for one second of mono sound, the capture component will return 22k samples(points). (Which already is half the data rate of CD Audio.) So basically everything you do with sound in GH is likely to freeze your PC.
On my PC, making a point for each sample in 1 second of captured sound and interpolating a curve though them already takes about 0.6 seconds. No smoothing, no nothing... no chance for real time.…
p;LB (from last week). I've downloaded and installed OpenStudio 1.12.0 and made sure all the files are unblocked. Still, when I try to use the Export to OpenStudio component, I get the error
"Solution exception:The type initializer for 'OpenStudio.OpenStudioModelCorePINVOKE' threw an exception."
which happens at the line "model = ops.Model()" in the script.
I've tried uninstalling OpenStudio 1.12.0 and installing an older version (1.9.5) but get the same error.
I've read through this thread (https://github.com/mostaphaRoudsari/Honeybee/issues/214) but am not sure how to fix it. Any ideas on what to try? Is there any way around this?
Just fyi, I am using a 64-bit Windows 7 Enterprise desktop PC. Thanks in advance!…
e math to get the surface accuracy I'm looking for).
I'm dividing a circle, which represents the bottom of the endmill, then finding the intersection of SDL lines based on those points (just in the z direction for now as I own a 3 axis machine) and the surface. I then find the highest z point, and interpolate a curve with points using the original xy and the new z values.
I was planning on dividing both the curve and the circles by a length of .001, but this seems to be way too much. I was planning on using a similar strategy for a ballmill, populating the surface of half a sphere with points and finding the difference in length between those and those on the target surface, but that would be a significantly higher number of points.
Do I need a better strategy, a better pc, or am I asking for too much in terms of accuracy?
Thanks for the help,
Justin

that it can send out. Best to have a dedicated control for this. Mach 3 is pretty good for what it is, but there is a reason that nice commercial machines end up with their own controllers that are RISC based. If you are using Mach3 currently, and you are interested in the advantages of having a DSP based control, which includes the ability to have a true closed loop system (yes even on a stepper based system), then you should check out Dynomotion Kflop (www.dynomotion.com). Come to think of it, your idea of having Grasshopper be a "control" of sorts could be easily accomplished with a Kflop board, as you are free to do what you like with it so long as you understand C and/or .net. …

o that (click on 'Download' button, to start download of the video). However, your 1.png shows a bigger problem: Gismo is unable to download required OSM data, because something is blocking its request. Do you have Administrator rights on your PC/laptop where Gismo is installed? Some time ago we had a user with a similar problem, and he solved it by contacting the IT department and asking them to unblock the "tcp port 9090". Maybe you can try to do the same?

This common standard applies to Java and PHP as well. Date and time are treated as a single integer type (milliseconds) which allows "Date + Hours = Date" and many other conveniences.
As to benchmarks, I'm aware of the OS clock issues (back in the day, the first IBM PC running UCSD Pascal had a minimum interval of 18 milliseconds) but have always found that by counting enough loops so that the elapsed time is considerably greater, good benchmarks are easy and accurate.…

Does anyone have any idea why I am having this problem.. thank you…
