In the mean time (auto detection of struts < min Allowed == true) get the gist of the whole "torque" issue, the other gist not to mention the other-other gist.
Of course you can opt for NOT making the cables (green) that stabilize the "extension" part of a given tensegrity strut ... yielding the Mother in Law syndrome (fat and ugly):

i need this geometry to input into a GH script that we have been working upon for a very long time.
i believe david wrote this script though i realize this is not the best place for this but i am not finding help on this elsewhere and am in a bit of a bind.
is it possible that there is anyone out there that can run both of these files two times each and (perhaps) also explain what i am doing wrong?
i have run this before with no problems (and great results) and need to get the files in order to render something for a submission.
i am getting a "type mismatch error array required".
please feel free to contact me directly or to otherwise ask anything on this and apologies for the somewhat off-topic post. anyway, i've always found the folks that use david's tools to be especially generous and i am obviously keeping my fingers crossed.
feel free to ask for something in barter/trade or simply IOU.
THANKS…

2. IF you can find a BPA (Ball Pivot algo) you can by-pass the quite tricky reverse engineering coplanar clustering task. Good news: if memory serves well there's a BPA "add-on" component available for GH. Bad news: don't ask me where (I can't remember a thing or two).
PS: using Morph Methods you can severely "distort" the points List and get more intriguing topologies.
Internal BPA in action:
In order to get a "similar" with your picks result you'll need " A LOT of random points (say "around" 5/6K), probably some random Z noise ... and a rather very fast BPA.
If Z noise is used ... well ... then things are challenging: create a Truss like graph where tetrahedron type of rigidity is achieved: every quad set of neighbor points is connected with 6 lines.

name: index (line :0)"I'm trying to evaluate list items against each other in the script. Here's the code. Private
Sub RunScript(ByVal listA As List(Of Double), ByVal listB As List(Of
Double), ByVal minDist As System.Object, ByVal bracketDistMin As
System.Object, ByVal bracketDistMax As System.Object, ByRef distFix As

there was a way to preform all these operations without VB, I would
love to know. I studied Java for about a year around 6 years ago, and I
don't have any experience in VB other than what I have been working on
today, so I would like some help!…

orders from bottom to top. There are three pre-set heights: 20,000 / 50,000 / 80,000 (or 20, 50, 80 meters, I'm working in mm).
So if the three cantilevering volumes would be numbered 0,1 and 2, then I'm looking for a way to let Grasshopper generate the following:
A = 20m-position
B = 50m-position
C = 80m-position
(A,B,C):
0,1,2
0,2,1
1,0,2
1,2,0
2,0,1
2,1,0
Attached is wat I have so far, I have only managed to make simple translations per geometry.

xt is to scale it non-uniformly so that I can get a rectangle with a specific proportion. This proportion (my second input slider) is always larger than 0 and below 1. ie. I have a square with an area of 36, and its sides are 6. My input proportion is 0,25. How can use this to get a rectangle of 3x12? or if my input proportions is 0,44, how can I use this to get a rectangle of 4x9? It is important that the initial area I input is the same area of the final rectangle, and that this rectangle have the same proportion I use as second input.
Maybe this is more of maths question, but still worth giving it a shot and asking for some advice. Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance…
eating one from scratch.
some of the specific requirements-
Object layer name specifies the properties in Ansys. Example - Objects (solids or surfaces) in layer 'Steel_face1-fix_face6_12-frictionless' have steel material properties in Ansys, face 1 is fully fixed and face 6 has a frictionless contact with face 12 of another object.
Directly sending the input file created above from GH to Ansys solver without having to open Ansys and importing the file there.
I was searching grasshopper3d for relevant previous posts and found these (couldn't find any script though)-

ply the process to multiple plot locations (points) across my site. My aim is to have attractors across the site so each dwelling will be influenced slightly different to the other. However when i feed in multiple points for multiple plot locations, instead of what should be a single room associated to a single point i end up having multiple rooms associated to it. The number of rooms around a single point seems to be dependant on the number of plot locations.
I can't figure out what i'm doing wrong? What do i need to do to simply have bedroom 1 associated with all points referenced 6? Is there something i have to do to the list of points maybe?
I'm hoping this is a simple question and i hope i've explained it correctly. Thanks in advance for any help!!
