combination is nearly 0 (of course with 1 try). You have about 100 (?) dimensions... its just impossible to do it well. Even with billions of random genotypes for 1st generation.
Its like 1:googol (10^100) to succeed. If youll try and run it on your pc, youll probably consume all the energy in universe, and it will take longer time than our universe will exist.

EDIT : As David wrote in his post - every added dimension results with almost half of "success ratio". So as with one slider you have e.g. 1:2 ratio of success, with 100 sliders you have :

m-found gridshell, make the lengths of families of elements equal (using the EqualLength component together with the Kangaroo2 solver).
I am experiencing 2 issues:
1) After the form-finding part, the number of elements in the gridshell (which are lines running from node to node) is multiplied by 4. The resulting shape is as expected, but for some reason all elements have been duplicated 3 times (in other words there are 4 coincident elements everywhere).
2) I have previously used the EqualLength component on the similar structures, with the difference that they were existing structures modelled in Rhino (similar to the Baked output of the form-finding process described in step 1)).
In my previous experiences the Kangaroo2 solver converged impressively quickly, but now it appears a lot slower.
I am wondering whether this is related to both the Kangaroo and Kangaroo2 solvers running simultaneously (although the form-finding part only lasts for a few seconds, which I would have thought means the Kangaroo solver has finished running after that time so all my PC's ressource can be dedicated to the Kangaroo2 solver).
Does anyone have an explanation (and a remedy) for the above issues?…

e any simple way of getting my hands on the values of the parameters for the Pareto-front configurations ? For the moment I'm dealing with them by Copy-Pasting the list of data on a panel...
2. The data is given like a % of the parameters' sliders. Can't we get the slider values directly ?
3. Is there an easy way to view the shapes on Rhino while "travelling" on the Pareto-front ? I was thinking of clicking on the Octopus Pareto-front shape (line or surface) while having the corresponding parameters configurations (thus shape) on Grasshopper (and Rhino).
4. Finally, is it just my PC or why can't we see the shapes evolving while the algorithms is processing ?
Those features might be coming in the next versions of Octopus but still, if you have any idea of how you would deal with my questions for now...

rt, setup material qualities and run it. It calculates for a few seconds then it crashes Rhino. I have not done any work in the grasshopper version. I found that if I turn OFF ray tracing completely it will run to an answer. I have attached my test file. This is as far as I have gotten with learning Pachyderm.
Computer #2- On my other PC when I try to load Pachyderm into the system it does not appear in Rhino and Grasshopper does not load. I have to un-install Pachyderm from the Control Panel to get Grasshopper to even work. I have tried un-installing Rhino completely, re-installing it, then installing Pachyderm to no avail. Same problem remains. Is there some kind of a previous residual from a previous Pachyderm installation that is preventing it from installing properly? I have spent hours on this single problem and am flummoxed.…
ot give any changes in which Grasshopper matches data. Is the reason for this because I am trying to match points with different number of branches? Take a look:
