algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hello,

I wish to assemble model shown in the above image. I have used panelling tools plug-in. I am able to sort out the pieces since all the modules going to be laser cut, I need smart modules which will save time, material and cost. I have came up with 2 different modules, one which I ideally desire is difficult for me to make it.

Herewith I am attaching Rhino file, any logic from you is appreciated.

Thank You in advance

If you can "join" the parts you desire to unroll, then you can unroll the form without exploding.

Does this help?

Yes, It dose help. But  it dose no tag the edges in sequence. The tags are repeated again and again.

Yup, I see where it is a problem. If you "join" then "ptUnrollFaces" with Explode=No, you do get one long strip, but there can be some overlap. There is also the problem of not know which joined edges are hills and which are valleys (this is a general problem with laser cutting).

One thing you can do is join one strip and unroll that, and cut 5 copies of it. See image.

Thank You madam, I finally made a model. :D
