Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi

I have just downloaded and installed Octopus... Great to have a Pareto multi-objective optimisation add-on! Nice job! Really exciting!

I couldn't get it to work though... it crashes Rhino when I press 'start'.

I have made sure I have the latest service release of Rhino 5 (24/5/13), and latest GH  (9.0056).

I have also have this error message in Octopus (However I am not using any Gene Pool Component):

GalapagosComponents.gha was not found, so GenePools cannot be used with Octopus.

Galapagos is installed and works... do the gha file need to be located in a particular location for Octopus to find it?

Thanks for your help.

Does Octopus work on Rhino 5 32 or 64 bit?

Hi!

Crashes here too.

I think it'll only work with build 0.9.0014 for now.

hey fred,

thanks a lot, first.

however, the version available was developed for GH 0.9.0014 - i am working on an improved octopus at the moment, which will be running on GH 0.9.0056!

best,

robert

Ah great! When are you expecting to release it, do you know? (should I  go through the hassle of uninstalling 9.0056 and reverting to 9.0014?)

Thanks

Fred

Holler if you need testing!

... I have reverted to 9.0014 and tried. It works! Thanks!

Hi, I'm in the same situation!

When the new octopus version will be released?

Thanks for this great plugin!

I got a halfway stable version here, but lacks some of the features i tried to implement until the next release .. first of all the HypE algorithm instead SPEA-2, where I had to lay down development for a while now. maybe i ll just cull them out and give it away. its a research tool anyway ;)

Great! I understand HypE will allow more objectives? Does it take care of the "preference" bias too?

Anyway, like I said, UI was first on my wish list.

I can't wait to try it!

Thanks again for your work.

Hi! When can we use this "halfway stable version"?

Really Thanks!
