algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi all,

I am trying to simulate a Microshade using Honeybee instead of daysim. Below is the link to the document that explains how to run the Microshade simulation in daysim:

http://www.photosolar.dk/userfiles/file/Dokumenter/Guideline%20to%2...

On page 6 (picture below) it explains how to define the Radiance material of the Microshade. I am not sure how this could be done using Honeybee. I know that one can insert materials to the Radiance library but how is this done in this case I am not sure.

Can you guys help me with this?

Thanks,

Alejandro

I think it should be possible. Can you share the .cal file that is required ?

Here it is!

Attachments:

You need to add the cal file to your Radiance/Daysim RAYPATH folder ( it is usually named lib) and for Radiance it is most likely to be found as c:\radiance\lib.

After that, the file that I have attached should work ( I think). I have added some scribbles to the gh file to explain the workflow.

This one is without Microshade (so more luminance).

This one is with Microshade(therefore less luminance):

I don't know enough about Honeybee to know if this is the most efficient way to do this. Secondly, I am somewhat surprised that the shade isn't really visible in the rendering ? Is that how it is supposed to be ?

Thank you Sarith! It works
