algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hello,

Continuing the last discussion here, I was combining the K2 formed geometry from with K2E structural analysis in order to find any force types and distributions occurred.

The behaviour of 'rod' component in K2 works very well, it converged in equilibrium state. But, in K2E, the 'rod' component behave differently so it bend very much that the whole structure became collapsed. I was using the mechanical properties just as the K2E presets has provided.

Model from K2E After Solving

I want to do structural analysis on my model using K2E. But, with the whole structure in an equilibrium state as it was reached in K2 component.

Do you have any idea how i should done this?

Should I have any input on the 'Threshold' part of the Solver in order to limit the iteration?

Any help will be much appreciated.

Thank you.

Hi Irfane,

I did just quick look, and I think you should check scale of model. It seems to me that geometry should be given in meters and other physical properties and cross sections in mm. Scaling down your model by 0.001 gave different equilibrium than just K2, but it standing :)

I would first check all dimensions and after you can play with physical properties of members.

Hello Mladen,

Very nice..

I wasn't aware that even though most of the K2E units are using mm, the initial form in K2 are  still works in meter.

Thank you for your help.
