Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

I cannot get Kangaroo to install in Rhino 5.

Is it possible?  If so, what is the trick?

Thanks,

Aaron

Also getting this same problem. I checked the security settings and seem to be fine.

Rhino: Version 5.0  (5.1.20927.2230, 09/27/2012)

Grasshopper: 9.0014

Kangaroo: KangarooPhysics0080

Windows 7

Any luck with this? I'm finding the same problems. Everything unblocked, all permissions allowed. Still no sign of KangarooA.

Currently running Rhino 5 Evaluation and Windows 8.

Thanks,

Dan

Actually, when I also added the filed Daniel attached above it worked.

Hi all.
One thing that could be causing problems is multiple copies of Kangaroo (either the dll or Gha) in different locations on your computer. Please try searching for and completely removing all downloaded versions and re-installing the dll and gha in Special folders>components. Also note that both files need to be unblocked separately. Let me know if that works and I'll speak to David and try and get to the bottom of this

Hi Daniel,

I've removed all copies of the dll and the gha-file and tried to use both the "normal" and the special dll, you've attached to a previous reply. It's still not working properly, but it's OK. I can do everything I need to with Rhino4, and I'll re-install my PC in a month or two... I guess everything will be fine afterwards ;)

Thanks again for your help.

Actually, I got it to work with both Rhino 5 x64 and Rhino 5x86.

1. Make sure that the kangaroo dll and gha files are unblocked as per taz's comment.

2. unload Grasshopper

3. launch the Grasshopper Developer Settings and UNCHECK the box for memory loading.

4. Launch Grasshopper

5. unload Grasshopper

6. launch the Grasshopper Developer Settings and CHECK the box for memory loading.

hope it helps.

Hey everyone,

Any new things to try on this issue? I'm having the exact same issues I've tried everything in this thread, thanks for the tips, but still Kangaroo, she no worky.

I'm running Rhino 4, SR9 (x86), GH 050009, Windows 7 on a dual boot Mac (bootcamp). Greatly appreciated. Really looking forward to exploring this component set.

Thanks ever.

...oops, typo. Specs are:

I'm running Rhino 4, SR9 (x86), GH 0.9.0005, Windows 7 on a dual boot Mac (bootcamp).

thanks.

Hi Pan,
Can you try first updating to the latest grasshopper
(http://www.grasshopper3d.com/page/download-1)
and the latest kangaroo (http://www.food4rhino.com/project/kangaroo)
and confirm that you have searched for and removed all previous versions of kangaroo components and libraries, and unblocked both the dll and gha

Thanks Daniel. I'm upgrading to Rhino 5, I'll give your suggestions a try. Much appreciated.
