USGS Sites for Topography

Hi Brian,

For the "Import Topo" definition, I tried copying and pasting one of the links from the USGS site into a panel like so:

http://dds.cr.usgs.gov/srtm/version2_1/SRTM1/Region_06/N36W078.hgt.zip

But when I connected the panel to the path parameter, the "IMPORT IMG" definition turned red.  I also downloaded the HGT file onto my desktop and copied the file location into the panel and fed it to the path parameter and the definition still turned red.

Is there reason why this is happening?

Currently Heron does not work with direct HTTP links or zipped files.  Make sure to unzip the HGT file from the zip file and input the *.HGT file location.  I was able to successfully do this using the link you posted.

Thanks Brian, I got it to work.

Another issue I came across is, how can I bake the raster image, so I can use the image as a reference to build my 3d site off of it in Rhino?

I like to use the "Create/Modify Materials", "Create Attributes" and "Bake" components from Human.
