algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi Everybody!

I'm trying to analyze for wind one mesh but I have a problem with ecotect or GH... to analyze the wind I'm using winair4 in ecotect in this way:

1. I create a mesh in rhino

2. I export the mesh into ecotect via geco

3. I create the cells for analyze the mesh

4. I create the boundaries

5. I run the winair4 plugin.

The problem is that when I use a mesh imported from GH the winair plugin doesn't run. It only runs when I make the geometry in ecotect...

Does anyone knows where is the problem? Maybe in the way I export the mesh? (but I've tried in putting the mesh as all the types: wall, partition, floor...)

Thank you for your help!

Hi Francisco,

Although I set the date to somewhere in 2005, I get an error message "Problem in initialisation please see screen." Can you recommend a way to fix it?

Thanks,

If you set the date to 2005 geco will refuse to work to the timeblock included in this plug-in.

best

hey to],

Thanks! Got that now.

Hi Dave,

There is not bidirectionality between winair and Geco plugin. First you can export the data from GH (with geco plugin) to ecotect with the normal date and time. Then you could change the date to run winair. When you have the results in ecotect you must change to the normal date to import the analysis into GH.

I hope it helps! best regards!

Fran!

Thanks Francisco,

That was indeed helpful.

Hi Francisco,
Did you ever find a way to take all of the grid vectors from ecotect at the same time?

Thanks

Hi Caleb,

if you mean all the 3d grid vectors I've never succeed. if you want instead to get all plane grid (2d) vectors you can do it. Maybe you can take several horizontal plane grid vectors in order to import a 3D grid. the idea is that the addition of horizontal planes along the z axis makes a cube...

I hope it helps!

Fran!
