Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi Thomas, hi guys!

I just install Geco on Rhino5+Grasshopper 0.9.0061 but it looks that Geco can't get the EcoLink.

I've been using Geco on Rhino4 in the same computer and, as suggested by Thomas in another post, I have carefully uninstalled all the previous versions and clean the register. I've also re-installed Ecotect 2011 cleaning the register again.

But still I have the same problem..EcoLink is not recognised by Geco..what can I do to solve this problem?

Thank you for the help!

Hi Thomas!

I tried to uninstall and reinstall everything again, but still I have the same problem, but a new altert message when I start Grasshopper that I didn't have before and that I attach you to this message.

I don't really why is doing this, but I'm going crazy trying to find a solution! Did you find out something?

Thank you very much, best,

Andrea

Hi Andrea,

seems you missed the new installer path.

geco.gha and gecolink.dll have to be in a geco folder.

please copy the path and copy the files into it.

C:\Users\"YOURUSERNAME"\AppData\Roaming\Grasshopper\Libraries\

and create a geco folder or use the one from the download v1.0042

than your problem should be solved.

sorry i thought you got the update about the new geco version.

After next week there should than be again a installer to take care about all of this.

sorry

Hi Thomas,

geco.gha and gecolink.dll were already in the geco folder in C:\Users\"YOURUSERNAME"\AppData\Roaming\Grasshopper\Libraries\geco

but still the problem exist..and that's why I don't know what to do..

Do you have any suggestions?

Thanks,

Andrea

The error message you posted tells me the file does not exist

are you sure the file is in this location?

what is utenti in your file path?

please compare the file path in the posted error message with the one you have.

Yes, it's inside the geco folder as well as the geco.gha

Utenti it's just the italian word for Users, the file path it's exactly the same you suggested me in the previous post..it's really wired..

Is there a way to locate manually the geco.dll file?

Thanks

did you Tried to unblock the assemblies?

I didn't know .dll files are blocked automatically by Windows if they're downloaded from interet!

By the way now it's working perfectly!!! :)

Thank you very much Thomas!!!
