Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hello again Ramon,

I am working on a project where we are trying to do literally ALL plan generation parametricly from Grasshopper, which includes baking Text objects with Elefront.

Could you please in an update include the option for horizontal and vertical alignment of text when using the Define Text component. I am not even sure how you could use it without that!? Its so annoying having to bake text into different layers according to their intended alignment so I can do it after baking by selecting all objects in a certain layer and fixing in Rhino.

Thank you!

Hi.

Try right-clicking the text component.

You should find alignment options there.

Ahhhhh... :) Thank you!

Maybe there can be some documentation one day. I know its difficult to find the time for that. You could maybe add some things here: https://rhino.github.io/components/elefront/createText.html

Hello again Ramon,

Just came back to this after a while. I am sorry to report, that the text align options aren't doing anything. No matter which one I choose, text is always aligned bottom left :/

Can you confirm this? Which version is it working in? I am using the latest Elefront 3.0.1 (its the same in Elefront 2).

Sorry, small update about it: It bakes them with the correct alignment, but it doesnt preview them that way. That makes getting them right very tedious as I always have to bake to see and adjust the actual alignment.

Is there a reason, you dont show the alignment in the GH preview?

Hi Ramon!

I had the same problem as Armin described. But today I've updated to Elefront 3.0.3 and text alignment doesn't work anymore. Even when baked :(
