DIVA for Rhino

DIVA-for-Rhino is a plugin which runs thermal, daylight, solar radiation, and glare simulations. Our goal is to bring validated environmental simulations directly to the conceptual design environments of Rhino and Grasshopper.

thanks so much for the reply Jeff!
but i still couldn't work DIVA on SR8, the message tells me I have to get latest version, so that means only SR9?

Yes the current version uses climate based daylight metrics. In the current grasshopper component the default is daylight autonomy, but the data for other climate based metrics are also stored in the results folder.

can diva for rhino also work with Rhino4 SR8 or only SR9?

And another confusing question for me, is Daylight component in DIVA 1.9 already climate based? Cuz I see an output of 'daylight autonomy', or it'll wait till DIVA 2.0?

Hi Xiaoming, You are correct, we noticed the new energy plus release this week which included some changes to the input file which are probably causing the problem. We will hopefully straighten this out soon. Eventually we plan to link a version of energy plus to the installation so it will always be in sync.

Hi, Jeff. I just downloaded the new DIVA and want to try the thermal tools. But I noticed we can only download energyPlus version 7 from the website and it does not work well with DIVA 1.9. Maybe it is because of the folder name? Do you have a solution for this? Thank you.

Hi Davide, the component can be downloaded from the wiki installation page here

DIVA 1.9 is available for download and the wiki has been updated with old and new video tutorials. Let us know any problems or recommendations, thanks.

Hi Matthew, we are about to release diva 1.9 which will have the new toolbar scheme and a thermal analysis component. The solar tools have been revised and added as a new panel. The nodes component has been integrated into the analysis component to make iterations where the analysis sensors are changing with the geometry work smoother. The tutorials, download, and updated wiki will be synchronized in the next couple days.

Hi,

I have just installed DIVA and I'm noticing that I have a different toolbar for DIVA in grasshopper than the one shown in Jeff's install tutorial video.  My DIVA toolbar for grasshopper only has the "Analysis" and "Materials" icons; I assumed there would be more options after seeing Jeff's video.  I installed the DIVA 1.1f, could this have something to do with the missing grasshopper toolbar items?  Any info would be appreciated.

Best Regards,

MAtthew
