algorithmic modeling for Rhino

hi,

I am having trouble extruding from a surface, my current solution contours the surface but fails to extrude all the contours. In the image you will see all the contours identified on the surface, however when the result is baked you will see that a bunch of elements are missing... any assistance is greatly appreciated, thanks.

I don't think you internalized the surface geometry. I get a blank.

hi tim,

i'm not sure what this means, any chance you could tell me what it is, and how do I fix it?

cheers

Attach your rhino 3dm file as well. That's the quick fix.

hi tim,

thanks much, here it is.

The problem is that some of the isocurves are not closed. I half-solved the problem by finding the end points of these curves and just drawing a straight line through.

However some isocurves go from one end of the boundary to the next. I don't know how to see which edges of the boundary should be included in the polyline.

Any ideas?

You used Boundary Surfaces to create surfaces from your Contours, the problem is that not all of your Contours are closed so there are less surfaces being created than you expected, thus explaining the "missing" parts.

ok, nice pick up, can you suggest a fix please?
