[wish]You can select GH geos but you cant edit it

Hi developer and everyone ,

I think it would be very very very useful if we can select GH geos in rhino windows and then some corresponding components in GH canvas would be highlighted . I am not asking for editing GH geos directly because I know it is logically impossible . I just think this is a directly way to seek for comopents you want .What do you think ?

Hi Alpha,

this is very difficult. It either requires a massive amount of ghx->3dm interaction which would slow down everything and very quickly fill up the undo, or it means I have to write a custom object type in Rhino (a la T-Splines) which can handle all possible Grasshopper geometry (even potentially 3rd party geometry defined by non-standard GHA libraries) and then handles all picking and drawing. In either case there'd be significant overhead involved for every solution.

I know it would be a useful thing to have, but I need to discuss this in detail with the Rhino core experts in Seattle and there's no way I'm going to distract them while we're in 'Rhino5-must-be-released-soon-we're-in-ultra-paranoid-mode'.

This will probably have to wait for after Grasshopper 2.0
