algorithmic modeling for Rhino

in 8.0004 the profiler is acting very wonky.

it shows up some times, disappears other. i can not get it to actually show up consistently. i turn it on and it appears on one component but not others, then i do something and it disappears.

is anyone else having this issue

Hi Robert,

the profiler should not be visible at all if the component takes less than 3 ms to complete. Is this what you are seeing, or does it disappear on components that obviously do take a long time as well?

i know the components take longer than 3ms. the profiler just randomly appears and  disappears. i will try to post a video

I just made the 3ms limit customizable, so it can be switched off if so desired, though it doesn't sound like that's your problem.

Another reason for the profiler disappearing might be an exception somewhere in the drawing routine that is handled (so it doesn't crash) but it short circuits the drawing list.

david,

it may be the 3ms limit. which is odd because the component should take longer than 3ms but happy it does not. i am glad you added a switch because i would rather see 1 ms than the profiler just disappearing.

Yes, I had the same issue I think. The profiler was sometimes missing on some of the most time consuming components. When I fiddeled around with the wires, they would reappear.
