What is the meaning of AbsoluteTolerance & RelativeTolerance of Unroller Class

Hi,

These two properties(Absolute Tolerance & Relative Tolerance) lack documentation and I am wondering what they refer to.

Thanks,

Hi Jerome,

same as the Absolute and Relative document tolerances for 3dm files. Basically, unrolling (like a lot of operations) can be solved to a specified accuracy. If you want more accuracy then you'll end up with a nurbs curve/surface that has more control-points. You'll need to decide what accuracy you want in order to end up with the simplest geometry still acceptable.

Thanks,David.

I will try to test my model with different tolerances and find out what is the best setting for me:)

Thanks,

-Jerome

Additionally, RelativeTolerance is usually associated with intrinsic properties, for example deviations "along" a surface or curve itself, and AbsoluteTolerance with the evaluation of new entities, like the computation of intersections, reprojections and splits.

I hope this helps,

Thanks, Giulio.

Your suggestion is really time-saving when I am tuning my models.

Thanks.
