algorithmic modeling for Rhino

waffle, solid dif issue

This si my first attempt at grasshopper, I am tying to make a waffle structure around the exterior of a solid. I keep having issues with the Solid Difference. Sometimes it works sometimes not. Sometimes entire ribs disappear. I noticed if i change the thickness of the ribs it works better, sometimes worse. Any help would be appreciated.
